American TV presenter Lara Spencer, who laughed about Prince George taking ballet lessons, apologized for her comment. She was accused of making sexist comments about the little royal's love of ballet. The six-year-old will take ballet lessons during Year 2 at Thomas's Battersea.

Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's eldest child, Prince George, will return to school next semester. He will also resume his ballet lessons.

"The future king of England will be putting down the Play-Doh to take on religious studies, computer programming poetry and ballet among other things," said Lara Spencer, host of Good Morning America on ABC.

"Prince William says George absolutely loves ballet, I have news for you Prince William – we'll see how long that lasts," she commented as she muffled a laugh. After footage of the show went viral, Spencer was accused of both bullying and sexism. She later apologized for her "insensitive comment," Just Jared reports.

Actor and talk show host Rosie O'Donnell shared her reaction in a video posted on Twitter: "It's like bullying on national TV. Boys who take ballet are cool," she said.

"Lara Spencer on GMA mocked a 6-year old Prince George of the UK for taking ballet class [sic]. It shows that 'toxic masculinity' can be spread viciously by insensitive women, too. As a fellow 'George' and a lover of dance, I am very troubled and disappointed by her actions," tweeted actor George Takei.

Many people also chose to add hashtags such as #balletisforeveryone and #boysdancetoo to their tweets condemning the TV host.

Meanwhile, "Strictly Come Dancing" star, Kevin Clifton, also threw his support behind the George. He took to Twitter and shared a clip of the GMA section. "I wish I had done ballet as a kid!! Immediate episode idea for my podcast: 'Why ballet or any dance is great for young lads'," he added shortly after.

When one of his followers asked why different sports are still associated with genders, Kevin said: "It's a very outdated perception in my view."

Meanwhile, Travis Wall of "So You Think You Can Dance" fame, shared an Instagram story and said that Spencer reached out to him to personally apologize for her "insensitive" comment.

When Prince George returns to school after his summer break in September, he and his classmates will learn new subjects other than ballet. These are Literacy, Numeracy, Science, RS, French, Topic (History and Geography), PSHCE, Art, Computing, Music, Swimming, PE and Games.
