Partizan Belgrade midfielder Danilo Pantic has confirmed his arrival at Chelsea, making him their first January signing.

Jose Mourinho had ruled out any additions to the first-team during the winter transfer window, but has now gone ahead and captured the young Serbian midfielder, who will be one for the future.

The Partizan midfielder will now join the plethora of young Chelsea players out on loan following his arrival at Stamford Bridge this month.

The midfielder himself has confirmed that he will be heading to the Eredivisie to join Vitesse on loan for the remainder of the season. Pantic will want to impress the Chelsea manager during his time in the Netherlands in the hope that he can break into the Blues first-team next season.

The 18-year-old midfielder was on the final six months of his contract and only recently revealed that both Chelsea and Partizan were in discussion with regards to the deal. He has also revealed his excitement at getting a chance to play for Vitesse, who already have three other Chelsea players in their ranks.

"As an 18-year-old it is hard to get a chance at Chelsea and I was immediately excited by the opportunity to play first in the Netherlands. That competition is ideal for young talent and they play attacking football," Pantic said, as quoted by the Daily Mail.

"I already know a lot about Vitesse. It's a big club where many young players play and games will be played offensively," the former Partizan midfielder added.

"If I play well at Vitesse, then I will probably go back to Chelsea."

Apart from Chelsea, Serie A giants Juventus were also interested in the midfielder, but the Stamford Bridge outfit won the race despite various approaches from the Italians.
