Manchester City sporting director Txiki Begiristain was spotted in Porto's Stadium last Thursday during the Europa League between the Portuguese side and Sevilla, with reports in Spain claiming that Liverpool target Alberto Moreno was the subject of his attention.

The 21-year-old left-back has excelled in La Liga this season, garnering a reputation as one of the most prolific talents around Europe and being capped by the Spanish national team twice.

Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester United and Napoli are reportedly monitoring his situation while Sevilla based newspaper Estadio Deportivo reports that City are willing to join the race to secure his services.

According to the Spanish newspaper, City's sporting director visited the Do Dragao stadium last week to watch Moreno in action.

Manuel Pellegrini already has Aleksandar Kolarov and Gael Clicly in his ranks but according to Estadio Deportivo he is not happy at all with the pair and is looking to bolster the left-back position with a new signing.

Sevilla sold Alvaro Negredo and Jesus Navas to the Premier League giants last summer and the relationship between both clubs is really good.

Nevertheless, Pellegrini's side will have to face big competition should they finally try to sign Moreno, as the left back has become in one of the world's most sought-after players in his position.

Real Madrid are reportedly leading the race to secure his services while Sevilla President Pepe Castro recently revealed that they received an offer from a Premier League side last January, with reports suggesting that it came from Liverpool.
