A car with five people plunged off a 30ft cliff in Kent.

Four women and a man were found in the overturned car after it careered off the cliff in Birchington at around 9pm on Saturday evening.

Three female passengers were cut out of the car taken to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford for treatment. Their injuries were not life-threatening.

The Cliff Road was closed while emergency services were at the scene.

A police spokesman said: "The occupants were taken to William Harvey Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances of the collision."
