Demi Moore made a striking appearance at the premiere of her film 'I Love Boosters' at the SXSW Festival last week. The actress wore a blue dress with a thigh-high slit, paired with strappy heels and gold bangles.

Her appearance on the red carpet, however, drew commentary beyond her outfit. Some social media users expressed concern over how thin Moore looked, with several noting the appearance of her arms in particular.

Is Extreme Thinness the New Trend?

On X, some concerned commenters questioned Moore's recent appearance. The discussion reflects a broader conversation on social media about body image and the pressures that public figures face.

One commenter said she could not understand why people consider extreme thinness desirable. 'Demi Moore spotted at the SXSW looking noticeably skinny... it's worrying. I don't understand why this extreme thinness is becoming a trend. Insecurities can do serious damage to the mind,' she wrote.

'Weighs Less than a Bag of Laundry'

Another user drew a comparison to the fashion industry's past. 'I remember the Kate Moss/heroin chic days. Everyone was skin and bones. After seeing Demi Moore and other actresses looking like they weigh less than a bag of laundry, I hope this doesn't become a new trend,' the commenter wrote.

Ozempic Allegations

One user suggested Moore had been taking the GLP-1 medication Ozempic. Photos from the red carpet show Moore with an orange cloth wrapped around her waist, which the user claimed was used to prevent her dress from slipping — attributing the fit issue to significant weight loss. Moore has not responded publicly to the Ozempic allegation. 'Demi Moore's Violet High-Slit Dress Is Held With an Orange Ribbon. Another one rip apparently stopped eating...#ozempic,' the user wrote.

Plastic Surgery Claims

Some commenters have also speculated about whether Moore has had plastic surgery, with some describing her as unrecognisable and others suggesting she looked 'plastic' or was wearing a wig. A source, however, said Moore remains confident in her appearance and intends to continue pursuing treatments as she sees fit.

'Demi has been hyper-beautiful nearly all her life. It's a massive part of her identity, and she's making considerable efforts to maintain it. She's seeing every sort of expert you can imagine, from a peptide doctor that specialises in anti-aging to the go-to celebrity massage therapist that does lymphatic drainage, and of course, multiple plastic surgeons,' the source said. These claims cannot be independently verified.

Demi Moore on Plastic Surgery and Perfectionism

Moore has denied for many years that she has had cosmetic surgery. In 2009, she said she preferred to look like a woman her age rather than trying to appear as though she were still 30. She was 47 at the time. Moore has previously spoken openly about her struggles with self-image and the intense scrutiny she faced during the height of her career. Moore has also spoken about the pressure she faced to lose weight, saying she struggled with perfectionism and often felt compelled to comply with what she was told, regardless of how it affected her.
