Rihanna and Drake
Drake and Rihanna made their romance public on the 2016 MTV VMAs stage Roc Nation

It seems like Drake has sent a cryptic message to Rihanna on Instagram as the couple reportedly ended their on-again off-again relationship. The Hotline Bling hit-maker took to social media to share a picture of himself along with a not-so-subtle message, which seems to be dedicated to the Brabadian singer.

"Too mix up in drama to free my mind but I'm praying for you even in your darkest times," the Canadian rapper wrote on the popular image-sharing site along with the black and white picture. In the photo, Drake was seated in a car holding what appears to be a bottle of alcohol.

While the picture was enough to stir Drake's fans and followers on social media, the 29-year-old singer soon followed it up with a second post.

Considering the subtle caption featuring a light bulb emoticon, fans quickly jumped to the conclusion that Drake is probably working on a new "love song" after his recent split.

Before Drake took to the website, Rihanna had shared a cryptic message on Instagram addressing her former boyfriends without naming anyone. "None of my exs are married or in happy relationships so it's safe to say that I wasn't da problem," the We Found Love hit-maker's post read.

Too mix up in drama to free my mind but I'm praying for you even in your darkest times. 💀

The music couple over the past month made regular headlines for adorable public appearances and on-stage PDA. According to reports, the duo got matching tattoos to celebrate their love.

Fans were ecstatic when the Controlla singer had publicly professed his love for his Work co-star at the 2016 MTV VMAs stage. However, the couple apparently parted ways after Drake was linked to model India Love. "Rihanna and Drake are seeing other people at the moment. They are not exclusive anymore. They still love each other, but their schedules have gotten in the way," E! Online quoted a source as saying.
