Cher's Son, Elijah Blue Allman, Arrested Twice in One Weekend on Burglary and Assault Charges
Elijah Blue Allman encounters legal issues with two arrests in a single weekend, raising concerns about his personal struggles.

Elijah Blue Allman, the 49-year-old son of music legend Cher and the late Gregg Allman, is in custody in New Hampshire after two arrests in less than 48 hours.
Following a weekend spree that included an assault at a prestigious prep school and a forced residential break-in, a judge ordered Allman to remain held in preventive detention during his 2 March 2026 arraignment at Salem District Court.
The musician, who has a documented history of mental health and substance abuse struggles, now faces a litany of charges, including felony burglary, criminal threatening, and simple assault.
These legal developments follow a tumultuous 2025 for Allman, who was hospitalised last June after a suspected overdose in California.
The St Paul's School Dining Hall Disturbance
The legal spiral began on Friday evening, 27 February 2026, when Concord police officers were dispatched to St Paul's School, an elite private boarding institution. Reports from the campus indicated that an 'unwanted guest' with no known affiliation to the school had entered the dining hall around 7:00 pm and was acting belligerently. According to a message sent to parents by Rector Kathy Giles, Allman allegedly poked a student with his cane after becoming annoyed that the student was following him.
When faculty members intervened, Allman reportedly pushed a staff member with his cane before campus security physically removed him from the premises. Concord police charged Allman with four misdemeanours: two counts of simple assault, criminal trespass, and criminal threatening, along with a violation of disorderly conduct. Despite the aggressive nature of the encounter, he was initially released on personal recognisance bail from the Merrimack County Jail.
The Windham Residential Break-In And Arrest
Less than two days after his release, Allman was arrested again in Windham, New Hampshire. At approximately 9:45 am on Sunday, 1 March 2026, a local woman called 911 while hiding in a closet after an intruder shattered a glass pane to enter her home via the back door. Windham police officers arrived to find Allman seated on the living room couch, unbothered and smoking a cigarette.
Police reports state that Allman claimed the homeowner had given him permission to 'break the door and enter,' an assertion the residents flatly denied. While no items were reported stolen, the break-in resulted in an estimated $1,700 in damage to the door and a $1,000 loss due to a cigarette burn on a rug. For this second incident, Allman faces charges of felony burglary, two counts of criminal mischief, and a breach of bail.
History Of Struggles And Public Scrutiny
Elijah Allman's life has been marked by personal battles and high-profile struggles.
His mother, Cher, famously sought temporary conservatorship over him in December 2023, citing her son's severe mental health issues and substance abuse problems. Court documents reveal she feared he would squander his inheritance, funds from the trust set up by his late father, Gregg Allman.
Cher expressed her worries openly. She believed her son was substantially unable to manage his financial resources due to severe 'mental health and substance abuse issues,' she said at the time. She argued that without intervention, Allman's health and safety could be at risk.
Allman responded with a different voice. In January 2024, he told the court he didn't want his mother handling his finances.
'I do not need her unsolicited help or support at this time,' he said, asserting he had stopped using illicit substances that previously contributed to his erratic behaviour.
Despite her efforts, Cher lost her temporary conservatorship in January 2024, a sign of the ongoing complexities within their relationship.
In June 2025, authorities reported that Allman was taken to a hospital in San Bernardino County after exhibiting erratic behaviour. Deputies found drugs inside his home, and he was transported for evaluation. The incident underscored ongoing concerns about his mental health and substance use.
As Allman faces these legal battles, those close to him hope for stability. His life, filled with highs and lows, remains under intense scrutiny. For now, Allman's future remains uncertain, caught between personal battles and the weight of public attention.
