England's selectors have chosen to keep the same 12-man squad for the second test against Pakistan, due to start on Friday at Edgbaston.

The selectors will no-doubt be hoping to replicate the resounding defeat inflicted on the visitors, who lost to England by 354 runs in the first Test, which ended yesterday.

Seamer Tim Bresnan will be retained in the squad in favour of Ajmal Shahzad, who recently injured his ankle.

Pakistan however has dropped spin bowler Danish Kaneria who took only one wicket in 33 overs during the first Test.

Instead Pakistan has called up former captain Mohammad Yousuf in the hope that he may strengthen the sides batting in a dire performance which saw them score just 182 and 80 runs in their two innings.
