Flash season 3 episode 10
Barry Allen and Iris West in The Flash season 3 The CW

Following a shocking revelation about Iris West in the fall finale, The Flash season 3 has gone on a long winter hiatus and will return with all-new episodes on 24 January, 2017 at 8pm EST on The CW Network.

Episode 10 is titled Borrowing Problems From the Future, and will deal with the brief time travel into the future made by Barry in the previous episode. In the mid-season finale episode, we saw Barry teaming up with Earth 3's speedster Jay Garrick, to take down the speed god, Savitar.

The team discovered that Julian is Alchemy, as it was revealed that he located the philosopher's stone in India, following a vision of his dead sister. The team communicates with Savitar through Julian, who claims that Barry, in the future, will imprison him. Savitar boasted of "holding the power of life and death over all" and spoke about knowing their destinies."The Speed God warned Barry that one team member will "betray" him, that "one shall fall," and one "shall suffer a fate worse than death."

After realising that Alchemy's power lies in the box, Jay and Barry decided to throw the box into the Speed Force, where it can never be found. While doing so, Barry travels five months into the future, witnesses Savitar killing Iris as the villain goats, "You lose, Barry."

Later Jay advised Barry that the future is not fixed, and the episode ended on a lighter note with Barry and Iris moving in together, Wally getting his own Kid Flash costume.

Previously, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg teased to Entertainment Weekly that the finale would change the direction of the show.

He said, "Events will occur in episode 9 that will change the direction of the show moving forward. They will have a greater idea of what threat Savitar faces, and what they're truly up against for this season, and how it is going to take all of them to fight it."

Will Savitar kill Iris? Can Barry save his lady love? We will have to wait until next year to find out.
