Model killed herself after being taunted online by internet trolls The Perfect Dinner

A model who appeared on a German's answer to Come Dine With Me reportedly committed suicide after becoming a victim of vicious online attacks by Internet trolls.

Claudia Boerner, 32, was found dead at her home weeks after appearing on the TV Cooking show, The Perfect Dinner.

According to reports, Boerner was taunted via Facebook and email about her "fake boobs" and appearance.

She was also branded an attention-seeking and accused of playing up to the cameras.

Although an official cause of death is yet to be confirmed, neighbours reported a strong small of gas in the hall outside her flat in Vellma, Germany.

Corinna Teuner, a spokeswoman for Vox, the station that produce the show released a statement saying: "We don't know if internet mobbing played a definite role in this case. We send our sympathy to the friends and family of the candidate."

A message on the shows web site reads: "This week we received the sad news that Claudia, who was seen in the past week at The Perfect Dinner has died.

"She struck us as a friendly, open-minded young woman. We were all surprised and shocked by the news."

The news comes days after student Liam Stacey was jailed for posting racially offensive remarks on Twitter following footballer Fabrice Muamba's heart attack.
