Japanese AV Actress Hana Kuraki, 25, Reported Dead as Unconfirmed Suicide Claims Spread and 'Traffic Accident' Injury Claims Resurface

Japanese AV actress Hana Kuraki, 25, was reported dead on Saturday after her body was discovered at an apartment in Tokyo's Kabukicho district, while unconfirmed suicide claims circulated online. Her death also renewed attention on facial and jaw injuries she had previously attributed to a 'traffic accident'.

Kuraki announced a hiatus in June 2026. She had also said she suffered facial and jaw injuries in what she described as a 'traffic accident'.

A later online allegation disputed that account, claiming she was injured during an incident involving host Shota Taira, but neither police nor Kuraki's management agency has confirmed the cause of her death or the earlier injury claims.

Hana Kuraki Death Draws Attention to Apartment Linked To Host

S PiDA producer and BreakingDown fighter Sakito said on X that the apartment where Kuraki was found was linked to Taira. Taira, 31, is a prominent host associated with Kabukicho's L's Collection group.

Sakito wrote that he was 'deeply saddened and heartbroken' by Kuraki's death and offered his condolences. He said he did not discover Kuraki's body but was called to the apartment by one of her friends, who had found her.

According to Sakito, he then contacted Taira to tell him Kuraki had died in the apartment. Sakito alleged that Taira said he had a meeting and would be 'two hours late', leaving Sakito to deal with police officers and detectives at the scene.

No police statement in the material identifies a cause of death, confirms suicide or assigns responsibility to another person.

Hana Kuraki 'Traffic Accident' Account Faces New Allegations

Kuraki's June hiatus has returned to focus because of a separate claim circulated by an online whistleblower. Kuraki had said at the time that she suffered facial and jaw injuries in a 'traffic accident'.

The whistleblower instead alleged that the injuries occurred when Taira accelerated a Maybach while Kuraki was trying to enter the vehicle, causing her to be dragged along the pavement. The account remains an allegation and has not been established by an official statement.

The report also refers to purported leaked documents described as settlement agreements relating to alleged assault and theft, as well as a letter of apology attributed to Taira. Their authenticity has not been independently established, and no response from Taira is included.

Sakito said Kuraki had previously spoken to him about difficulties in a personal relationship and had sometimes appeared distressed. His comments did not constitute an official finding about the circumstances of her death.

Hana Kuraki's Career Rose Quickly Before 2026 Hiatus

Kuraki, from Kanagawa Prefecture, debuted as an exclusive actress for adult video label S1 in May 2024. Before entering the industry, she attended beauty school and worked as a hair and make-up assistant.

She released a photobook and was announced as an official ambassador for the Taiwan Adult Expo held in Kaohsiung in April 2026. Taira, meanwhile, had built a high profile in Kabukicho's host club scene.

It also identifies the former X4 member as L's Collection's top earner in 2025 and notes that he was featured on ABEMA as a leading figure among the group's roughly 1,700 hosts. His 2025 No. 1 ranking is also reflected in L's Collection material.

Sakito, who previously worked at Top Dandy before opening S PiDA in 2023, urged people not to add to the speculation. 'I hope that no further harm comes to the deceased or those around her through misinformation or speculation,' he wrote.

Police and Kuraki's management agency had not issued an official cause of death in the material provided, leaving the suicide claims and disputed account of her June injuries unconfirmed.
