Reacher actor Alan Ritchson is under police investigation after a neighbour in Nashville, Tennessee, accused him of punching, kicking, and repeatedly striking him during a confrontation on 22 March. The incident allegedly took place in a residential suburb while two children were present.

The neighbour, Ronnie Taylor, told TMZ that Ritchson hit him 'at least four times' while he was on the ground, leaving him with bruises and swelling. Video of the altercation, which took place around noon, is now circulating online. Two children believed to be Ritchson's were nearby on motorbikes when the fight broke out.

Law enforcement sources confirmed to TMZ that they are investigating. No arrests have been made.

Dirt Bike Noise Sparked Two-Day Dispute Before Alleged Assault

Taylor said the trouble started the previous day. On 21 March, he claimed Ritchson, 43, was riding through the quiet neighbourhood on a green Kawasaki dirt bike at excessive speed, revving the engine loudly and disturbing the peace. Taylor admitted he responded by making a rude hand gesture as the actor rode past. He said Ritchson returned it. No physical contact occurred that day.

The next day, around noon, Ritchson came through again. This time he had two young children with him, each on their own motorbike. Taylor told TMZ he walked out and confronted the actor. He said he asked Ritchson, 'Can you stop this, please,' using profanity in the exchange. Taylor claims the conversation broke down almost immediately.

Taylor said the exchange turned physical within moments.

He told police Ritchson punched him in the face and kicked him. During the scuffle, Taylor said the actor fell off his bike, got back up and tried to run him off. A second tussle followed. Taylor alleged Ritchson then struck him in the back of the head.

Taylor did not go to hospital but said the injuries were clearly visible. He told TMZ the bruising and swelling covered his face and body. Photos shared with the outlet appear consistent with his account of the alleged beating.

No Arrests Made as Police Investigate Ritchson Confrontation

Taylor reported the incident to local police shortly after the altercation. Law enforcement sources told TMZ that an active investigation is ongoing but that no charges have been filed against either party. Police have not publicly named Ritchson as a suspect.

According to Taylor, Ritchson rode off after the fight. He said several neighbours saw the whole thing unfold and could corroborate his version of events.

Video obtained by TMZ shows what appears to be Ritchson engaged in a physical confrontation with another man. Two children can be seen waiting nearby on motorbikes. The footage does not capture the full sequence of events, and it is unclear from the clip alone who initiated contact.

TMZ said it contacted Ritchson's representatives but had not heard back. The Daily Beast reported the same, noting it had also reached out to his team without a response.

Ritchson is best known for starring as Jack Reacher in the Prime Video series Reacher, based on Lee Child's bestselling novels. The show, one of the platform's most-watched original programmes, was renewed for a fourth season in October 2024. Ritchson, who is known for performing many of his own stunts on set, also appeared in the Netflix sci-fi film War Machine, released earlier this year. He has lived in the Nashville area for several years.

Neither the actor nor his management has publicly addressed Taylor's allegations. No statement has appeared on Ritchson's social media accounts. It is not yet clear whether the investigation will result in formal charges against either party, or what role the video footage and witness testimony may play in that decision.
