A video circulating on social media shows Transformers star Shia LaBeouf shouting at a woman in Rome, weeks after he was arrested in New Orleans over battery charges for punching several people outside a New Orleans bar during Mardi Gras, where he also allegedly shouted homophobic slurs.

The actor, who was recently granted a brief reprieve from his legal constraints to attend his father's baptism in Italy, appears to be spiralling further into public controversy. Fans and observers have expressed mounting concern that the 39-year-old's recent erratic behaviour suggests his ongoing personal and legal battles are taking a heavy toll.

The Actor's Erratic Behaviour in the Italian Capital

Prior to the shouting incident at a restaurant, LaBeouf was filmed in a hotel lobby in Rome wearing only his underwear. In the video, he appeared dishevelled and was seen approaching a desk clerk and bystanders to ask for a light for his cigarette.

This unusual appearance was followed days later by an aggressive outburst at an outdoor cafe. In the footage, the actor is seen leaning over a table and screaming at an unidentified woman to 'f*ck off' before pacing the pavement and continuing to yell into the street. The woman involved appeared unfazed, TMZ reported.

It's unclear if he's yelling at the same woman or someone else but the video has sparked intense debate regarding the actor's state of mind.

These incidents occurred during a court-approved one-week trip to Rome. A judge had initially denied the travel request but later granted it after LaBeouf's legal team provided a detailed itinerary for the religious visit to support his father, Jeffrey Craig LaBeouf.

Actor's New Orleans Arrest and Legal Troubles

The actor's recent outbursts come in the wake of a turbulent February in New Orleans. On 17 February, LaBeouf was arrested during Mardi Gras celebrations after allegedly becoming aggressive at the R Bar in the Marigny neighbourhood.

According to police reports, he struck multiple individuals and used homophobic slurs after being asked to leave the establishment.

Following a court appearance on 26 February, Judge Simone Levine described the actor as a public safety risk when intoxicated. She ordered him to post a $105,000 bond (approximately £79,000) and mandated that he enroll in a substance abuse treatment programme.

A third battery charge was later added to the case after another alleged victim came forward, claiming LaBeouf had head-butted them during the same Mardi Gras altercation.

Shia LaBeouf's Recent Police Confrontation

The situation escalated further upon his return to Louisiana. On 20 March, just one day before the Rome restaurant footage went viral, LaBeouf was filmed in a heated exchange with police officers outside his home in New Orleans.

In the footage obtained by TMZ, the actor appears visibly distressed, lifting his shirt and shouting at officers that he is an 'easy target.'

At one point during the encounter, LaBeouf began to pace frantically, yelling, 'I have a f***ing three-year-old!' before breaking down in tears while sitting in the street.

The officers eventually departed, leaving a distraught LaBeouf alone.

Is Shia LaBeouf Okay?

As reported by The Guardian, the actor has previously acknowledged his struggles with alcohol and aggressive behaviour, once attributing his actions to a 'small man complex.' However, with his next court hearing scheduled for late March, fans fear that these high-profile incidents are evidence of a deeper crisis.

One wrote: 'Shia LaBeouf's agitated confrontation in Rome follows a clear pattern of public incidents this year, including his Mardi Gras arrest and hotel disturbance. What we're witnessing isn't entertainment it's a cry for help that the industry and his supporters continue to ignore at his peril.'
