Who Is Reacher Star Alan Ritchson Allgedlt Caught Punching Neighbour on Video? Exploring His Past Trauma & Mental Health Battles
Ritchson is yet to break his scilence or share his side of the story.

A viral video showing Alan Ritchson in a physical confrontation with a neighbour has quickly turned into a developing story, raising questions not just about what happened on a quiet Nashville street, but about the actor's past and the personal struggles he has spoken openly about.
The footage, published 22 March, shows the Reacher star in a tense altercation that is now under police investigation, with no arrests so far and limited official answers.
As details emerge, attention has shifted beyond the incident itself to Ritchson's history with trauma, mental health, and the pressures that have shaped his life off-screen.
The Nashville Incident Caught on Video
The incident unfolded over two days in a suburban neighbourhood outside Nashville, Tennessee.
According to the neighbour, identified as Ronnie Taylor, tensions began the day before the fight when Ritchson was riding a dirt bike through the area at high speed, creating noise that drew complaints. Taylor said he reacted by making a rude gesture, which he claims Ritchson returned.
The situation escalated the following day.
Taylor told reporters he confronted Ritchson again when the actor returned, this time riding alongside two young children believed to be his sons. What started as a verbal exchange quickly turned physical.
Video published online shows the two men facing off in the street before things turn into a brief but aggressive scuffle. Taylor alleges he was punched multiple times, including while on the ground, and kicked during the encounter. He also claims Ritchson continued striking him after falling off his bike mid-fight.
The footage does not clearly capture every alleged blow, but it confirms a physical altercation took place, with children visible nearby during the incident.
Taylor filed a police report the same day. Authorities have confirmed an active investigation but have not announced any charges. Ritchson has not publicly responded.
Reacher Star's Private Struggles
The confrontation marks the first time Ritchson has faced public allegations of physical aggression. Until now, much of his public image has centred on his rise as the lead in Reacher and his candid discussions about mental health.
In 2024 interviews, Ritchson spoke in detail about the trauma he experienced early in his career while working as a model. He described multiple incidents where he felt exploited or placed in unsafe situations, including one encounter during a photo shoot in a hotel room that he says turned into a sexual assault.
He has also described another incident involving a high-profile fashion photographer who allegedly groped him during an event and implied professional opportunities in exchange for sexual favours.
Ritchson has said these experiences pushed him to leave modelling entirely and pursue acting.
Ritchson's Mental Health Journey
In the same interviews, Ritchson shared that he was later diagnosed with bipolar disorder in his mid-30s, along with ADHD. He has been open about both manic episodes and periods of depression, describing moments where his behaviour became impulsive or difficult to control.
He also revealed a suicide attempt in 2019, during a period when he was struggling deeply while working on an independent film project.
Ritchson said he reached a breaking point and attempted to take his own life before stopping himself. He has since credited that moment, along with support from his wife and children, as a turning point that led him to seek consistent medical help.
Since then, he has said he works closely with doctors and relies on a strong support system at home.
Meanwhile, the Nashville altercation is being viewed through that broader context. What is reported till now is only based on the neighbour's account of a confrontation that escalated into violence.
On the other, Ritchson is yet to break his silence or share his side of the story.
TMZ reported that an investigation is 'stemming' but no arrest has been made so far.
