HTC One M8 to get Sense 6 UI with Android Lollipop update. HTC

Looks like HTC is on track to bring Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its 2014 flagship One series smartphones.

LlabTooFeR has shared a few screenshots, which show Android Lollipop update featuring new Sense user interface version 6.0 running on HTC One M8. This is contrary to the previous leak, which suggested that the HTC is developing the Sense 7 UI for the final software release that will integrate Material Design on the latest Android 5.0.

As for the roll-out, Mo Versi, HTC vice president and product management, has already confirmed that the company has received the Android Lollipop source code from Google. The One M8 and M7 will get the update within 90 days.

He has also confirmed that the update for Google Play Edition of One M8 and M7 which got delayed is set for release this Friday, and that the company is aggressively working to get the update out as soon as possible.

Apart from the One M8 and M7, the Lollipop update is expected to be available for a slew of HTC smartphones including Desire Eye, One M8 dual-SIM, One M7 dual-SIM, One E8 and its dual-SIM variant and Butterfly 2.

As LlabTooFeR predicts, these devices are likely to get the Lollipop desert treatment in the January-March time frame.
