India will take on South Korea in the first semi-final of the 2016 Asian Hockey Champions Trophy in Kuntan, Malaysia, on 29 October (Saturday).

The first semi-final clash will be played between the team which finished on top of the table against the fourth-placed team. India, who won the tournament in its first edition managed to finish on top after beating host nation Malaysia 2-1 in the last group stage fixture.

P R Sreejesh, who is leading India, will be hoping to make it to the final for the third time in Asian Hockey Champions Trophy by defeating South Korea on Saturday. India are unbeaten in the tournament so far and will be targeting to extend their unbeaten run in order to progress to the final.

Out of the five matches they have played, India managed four wins and a draw. The draw came against South Korea as the clash between the two sides ended in a 1-1 scoreline. The East Asian nation will also be looking forward to putting pressure on one of the tournament favourites.

The winner of this clash will face either host nation Malaysia or defending champions Pakistan in the final. The latter two will face each other in the second semi-final clash on Saturday.
