BTS 2026: 'ARIRANG' Comeback Live Event Announced for Weverse Pre-Order – What ARMY Needs to Know
BTS' 'The Comeback Live | Arirang' blends a public Seoul showcase with a global Netflix stream, signalling a carefully structured full-group return

When BIGHIT MUSIC published its latest notice on Weverse this week, it initially looked like another standard comeback update. But reading further, fans quickly realised it carried more weight than usual.
The post confirmed plans for BTS The Comeback Live | Arirang, a large outdoor event in central Seoul linked directly to pre-orders for the group's fifth studio album. It also revealed that the show will be streamed live on Netflix, expanding its reach far beyond Korea.
For many fans who have followed BTS through military service, solo releases and extended gaps between full-group promotions, the announcement felt significant. It marks one of the clearest signals yet of how the group plans to reintroduce itself on a major scale.
A Comeback Designed for Both Seoul and the World
According to BIGHIT's notice, the event will take place on 21 March 2026 at 8:00pm KST in the Gwanghwamun Square area. It will be held outdoors, regardless of weather, with raincoats provided if needed.
The choice of venue is notable. Gwanghwamun is a major civic space rather than a traditional concert arena, often associated with national events and public gatherings. Holding a comeback showcase there suggests an intention to frame this return as something broader than a fan-only occasion.
At the same time, the live Netflix broadcast turns the event into a global viewing experience. For international fans who cannot travel, the stream removes a familiar barrier between Korea-based promotions and overseas audiences. While Netflix has yet to release detailed viewing information, BIGHIT has confirmed the broadcast in its official statement.
Who Can Attend and How Applications Work
Attendance in person will be limited. Only ARMY Membership holders who pre-order eligible versions of ARIRANG through Weverse Global and submit an application will be entered into the draw.
Not every version qualifies. The Weverse Albums edition, for example, is excluded, while certain bundles are accepted and others are not. This has already caused some uncertainty among fans trying to decide which editions to purchase.
Applications run from 10 to 13 February 2026, with winners announced on 15 February. BIGHIT will select 2,000 winners, alongside five wheelchair-accessible places.
The process is tightly regulated. Tickets cannot be transferred. Personal details must match official identification. Names cannot be changed after submission. Late arrivals may be moved to the back of the queue. These restrictions are consistent with previous BTS events, but they underline how competitive access is likely to be.
Fans attending in person should be aware that the event will be professionally recorded by BIGHIT. By participating, attendees agree to the use of their image and voice in future content. Footage may later appear in documentaries, promotional materials or other releases. While this is standard practice, it reflects how closely this event is tied to longer-term media planning rather than being treated as a one-off performance.
What to Expect at the Venue
Successful applicants will be placed in standing sections, with entry numbers assigned randomly. Wristbands will be issued on the day and must be worn throughout the event.
Only mobile phones are permitted for personal use. Professional cameras, audio recorders and live-streaming equipment are banned. Staff are authorised to remove anyone found violating the rules.
Other prohibited items include large bags, selfie sticks, drones, banners with poles, tablets and long umbrellas. Attendees may bring bottled water (500ml or less) and official light sticks.
BIGHIT has also warned of heavy traffic around the area and advised fans to use public transport, with road restrictions expected near Gwanghwamun. Anyone planning to attend will need to factor in extra travel time.
Why the 'ARIRANG' Title Matters
The album's title has attracted attention since it was revealed.
'Arirang' is one of Korea's best-known folk songs and is often associated with national identity, shared history and resilience. Its use as the name of BTS' fifth studio album is unlikely to be coincidental.

BIGHIT has yet to release a full tracklist or detailed concept information. Still, pairing this title with a major public event and a global livestream suggests a project that places particular emphasis on Korean cultural identity while maintaining international appeal.
The structure of the comeback appears designed to balance those two priorities rather than favour one over the other.
A Carefully Planned Return
Reading through the full notice, the structure of the event becomes clear.
It combines a live concert, a fan lottery system, a global broadcast and a promotional launch into a single package. It sits somewhere between traditional Korean comeback stages and large-scale international media events.
For fans who secure tickets, it offers a rare chance to see BTS perform together in a public outdoor setting during a major promotional cycle. For others, Netflix provides access that might not have been possible in previous eras.
For BIGHIT, The Comeback Live | Arirang appears to be the first major test of BTS' full-group strategy in the post-hiatus period.
More details are expected in the coming weeks. But even at this stage, the scale and structure of the event suggest that this return has been planned carefully, with visibility, reach and longevity firmly in mind.
