Conspiracy Theory About Jay-Z, Beyoncé's Surrogate Farm Resurfaces Amid Couple's 'Scandalous' Age Gap

It must have been a difficult couple of weeks for Jay-Z and his wife, Beyoncé. The rapper's name was recently dragged into the controversial Jeffrey Epstein files, though it is important to note that he was not included in the documents themselves. His name appeared only as part of the FBI's tip line or intake form.

In 2019, an unnamed caller phoned the FBI alleging that Jay-Z had been in a room with Harvey Weinstein and an unknown woman in an incident said to date back to 1996. Authorities said the allegations have not been proven accurate, and Jay-Z has vehemently denied any wrongdoing.

Now, the rapper finds himself at the centre of another controversy. For many years, rumours have circulated claiming that Jay-Z and Beyoncé own a surrogate farm in India. It all began in 2011 while Beyoncé was pregnant with Blue Ivy, when a TV appearance appeared to show her baby bump fold inward, leading many to speculate that a surrogate was carrying the child. The clip spread rapidly online and the theory has refused to die down since.

The rumours resurfaced when TikTok user @celebritea.blinds uploaded a video suggesting Jay-Z could face questions about the alleged surrogate farm if called to testify about his purported connection to Epstein. According to the unverified claims, the couple allegedly makes six figures a day from the operation and the women involved are allegedly mistreated, though none of this has been substantiated.

What's Wrong With the Couple's Age Gap?

The TikTok user also described Jay-Z and Beyoncé's 12-year age gap as scandalous, suggesting Jay-Z could be asked under oath how old he was when he first met his wife. However, the couple first met between 1999 and 2000, by which point Beyoncé was already 18 years old. With Jay-Z in his early thirties at the time, she was not a minor, making it unclear what exactly is meant to be scandalous about the age gap. The couple married in 2008 and have three children together: Blue Ivy, Rumi and Sir.

Conspiracy Theory Debunked

Some fans responding to the TikTok video were quick to point out that the surrogate farm rumour is hardly new and has been circulating online for years. On Reddit, one user dismissed it as insane and crazy as far back as two years ago.

'It's almost like because she doesn't publicly post her personality/life, people just come up with the most random things,' the user said.

Beyoncé herself addressed the fake pregnancy allegations back in 2012, saying the claims did not hurt her personally but that she was stunned by how far people's imaginations could go. Her mother, Tina Knowles, was equally hurt and baffled.

'I thought it was very unfair and very cruel that someone would think that someone would be that diabolical to keep up a charade like that for nine months. As a mother, it was painful for me to hear the crazy rumours. And I even had people ask me, which was so ridiculous,' she said.
