Jorginho's All-Caps Attack: Is Chappell Roan Finally Testing the Limits of Fan Boundaries?
Jorginho claims Chappell Roan's security guard left his 11-year-old daughter in tears at a São Paulo hotel after accusing her of harassment for smiling at the singer during breakfast.

Football star Jorginho has accused pop singer Chappell Roan of sending a security guard to confront his 11-year-old daughter at a luxury São Paulo hotel on Saturday, 21 March, alleging the child was left in tears after being told she had 'harassed' the singer simply by smiling at her during breakfast.
In a lengthy statement shared on Instagram Stories in both Portuguese and English, the 34-year-old athlete described the alleged encounter at the Palácio Tangará, where his wife Catherine Harding, who also performs under the name Cat Cavelli, was staying ahead of Lollapalooza Brasil. Roan, 28, was also a guest at the same hotel ahead of her scheduled performance at the São Paulo music festival that day.
The child at the centre of the dispute is Ada Law, the 11-year-old daughter Harding shares with her former partner, British actor Jude Law, and whom Jorginho helps raise. Harding had posted a photograph of Ada smiling at the hotel dining table less than 24 hours before the alleged incident, the girl apparently giddy with excitement at the prospect of seeing one of her favourite artists perform live. She had even made a handmade sign for the concert, including a cheeky nod to Roan's popular track 'HOT TO GO!'
According to Jorginho's account, Ada spotted Roan walking through the breakfast area, walked past the singer's table to confirm it was actually her, smiled, and returned to sit with her mother. She did not speak to Roan or approach her. 'She did not say anything, did not ask for anything,' he wrote.

What reportedly happened next is the part that gives pause. A security guard came over to their table while the family were still eating and, according to Jorginho, began speaking 'in an extremely aggressive manner' to both Harding and Ada, telling them Ada had 'disrespected' and 'harassed' the singer.
The guard allegedly threatened to file a formal complaint with the hotel against an 11-year-old who had done nothing more than glance across a room. 'My daughter was extremely shaken and cried a lot,' Jorginho wrote.
Jorginho Questions if Roan's Boundaries Were Exceeded
The footballer drew on his own experience in the public eye when making his case. Having spent years navigating football's intense fan culture, Jorginho argued he had a clear enough sense of what constitutes a genuine boundary violation. This, he said, was not it.
'I've lived with football, public exposure, and well-known people for many years, and I understand very well what respect and boundaries are,' he wrote. 'What happened there was not that. It was just a child admiring someone.'
His post ended with Roan's Instagram tagged directly and a message written in full capitals: 'WITHOUT YOUR FANS, YOU WOULD BE NOTHING. AND TO THE FANS, SHE DOES NOT DESERVE YOUR AFFECTION.' Harding reposted the statement to her own Instagram Stories, along with a photograph of Ada's homemade sign.
A representative for Roan and the Palácio Tangará had not responded to requests for comment at the time of publication.
Roan's History with Fans Makes Incident Hard to Ignore
The accusation did not arrive in a vacuum. Roan has spent much of recent months staking out a notably firm public position on her right to personal space, one that has attracted both widespread sympathy and, in equal measure, mounting irritation. Earlier in March, she made headlines after confronting photographers and fans who had gathered outside a restaurant where she was dining, describing the situation as harassment.

"i just woke up. i deserve my space, especially in moments like breakfast. i don’t play about my breakfast." https://t.co/uiT0ggKP0U pic.twitter.com/vmvtUbeKRb
For many, that stance resonated. Parasocial entitlement is a genuine problem in celebrity culture, and Roan has never been shy about naming it. But the São Paulo episode, as described by Jorginho, is something else entirely. A child walked past a table, smiled, and did not speak, approach, or make a request.
What has not been confirmed is whether Roan personally instructed the security guard or whether the guard acted independently. The distinction matters enormously and has yet to be addressed by her team.
