Serious Allegations Emerge from a 2020 Holiday

The Bay County Sheriff's Office confirmed on 18 March that Joseph is facing legal action for 'lewd and lascivious molestation' involving a child under 12, as well as 'lewd and lascivious behavior' by an adult.

The 31-year-old was taken into custody in Arkansas following a recent development in a past abuse case. The investigation gained momentum after the victim—who is now 14 years old—gave a detailed account of the past events during a formal forensic interview.

The allegations involve a 2020 trip to Panama City Beach, Florida, where Joseph reportedly pressured the nine-year-old victim to sit on his lap on multiple occasions. According to the Bay County Sheriff's Office, 'As the vacation continued, he also asked her to sit next to him on a couch and covered them with a blanket. During this time, Duggar manipulated the victim's underwear and grazed her genitals.'

The victim reported that the episodes ceased after Joseph offered an apology for his conduct. Following the forensic interview on 17 March, the victim's father reportedly challenged Joseph regarding the claims, at which point the former reality star 'allegedly admitted his actions to the father and Tontitown detectives.'
