The gold coffin drew attention. But for Igho Ubiribo's family, the most painful part of his funeral was the man who was no longer there. The 43-year-old British-Nigerian businessman and influencer died in Thailand in March after a penis enlargement procedure. An inquest later heard that the treatment caused a fatal embolism.

Ubiribo, known as Tiny, was buried in London in a gold coffin reportedly worth more than $745,000. His death has since prompted renewed discussion about the risks of penile filler procedures.

A Procedure Followed by Chest Pain

According to a Mirror report published on 6 September, Ubiribo had 40 millilitres of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine injected into his penis at an unnamed Thai clinic. After the procedure, he and his wife, Danielle Simba Allen, went for a massage. There, he complained of chest pain and passed out twice.

The report said an inquest at Inner West London Coroners' Court heard that the procedure caused a fatal embolism. An embolism occurs when a blockage travels through the bloodstream and prevents blood from reaching vital organs. The coroner's finding provides the reported medical explanation for Ubiribo's death. The report did not establish whether the clinic breached any medical or legal standard.

A Life of Luxury and Love

Ubiribo had more than 100,000 Instagram followers and was known for his extravagant lifestyle. He owned a home in Los Angeles reportedly worth $1.1 million and an apartment in London valued at $600,000. His social media accounts documented trips to Paris, Cape Town, and Bali.

His wife was a fashion designer and socialite. The couple married in Zimbabwe in 2022. Ubiribo often expressed his affection for Allen online. In June 2025, he wrote on Instagram: I appreciate you more than words can say. This is forever, and I'm all in. The messages offered a glimpse of a relationship that remained important to him.

Friends Pay Tribute

Ubiribo's death was mourned by Nigerian Afrobeat star Davido, celebrity barman Cubana Chief Priest, and Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, among others. At the funeral, Davido spoke about the difficulty of accepting his friend's death. 'I won't lie, it is not easy when someone like Tiny leaves,' he said, according to The Mirror. 'His absence is heavy. It doesn't feel real.'

The funeral's reported cost and the gold coffin became striking details of the ceremony. But the tributes centred on Ubiribo's absence from the lives of those who knew him.

Experts Warn of Serious Risks

Urology experts have warned that penile filler procedures can carry serious complications. These include loss of sensation, erectile dysfunction, infection, and deformity caused by scarring. The risks can vary depending on the substance used, the technique and the medical setting.

Ubiribo's case has brought those concerns into sharper focus. However, the coroner's finding does not establish that every penile filler procedure carries the same outcome.
