Full-time Real Madrid 4-2 Bayern Munich (6-3 agg)

Madrid made hard work of it, but Ronaldo's perfect hat-trick sends them through to the last four of the Champions League, a trophy they may well successfully defend.

Bayern will feel hard done by, and rightfully so, but Madrid simply belong at centre of Euroepan football's biggest stage.

Bayern probe but Robben's cross drifts harmlessly into the gloves of Navas. The game, once so fervent and frantic, is now being played at walking pace.

Kroos is given an ounce of respite as he is replaced by Kovacic. The Croatian was meant to come on for Ronaldo, but the Portuguese had other ideas.

A wonderful solo goal from Asensio, who skipped past the tiring legs of Hummels and Boateng to add gloss to the scoreline for Madrid.

Harsh on Bayern, but Madrid are simply ruthless.

A perfect hat-trick for Ronaldo.

A perfect hat-trick for Ronaldo, but the goal was all about Marcelo's drive. The Brazilian burst through an exhausted Bayern defence, flicked the ball away from two challenges and put the ball on a plate for Ronaldo, who simply couldn't miss.

That's curtains for Bayern now.

GOAL! Real Madrid 3-2 Bayern Munich (Ronaldo)

Nacho blocks vitally from an excellent Costa cross. Bayern hurriedly take the corner but nobody managed to connect with it.

Second half of extra-time is now underway. Bayern only need one goal but a number of their players were on their haunches during the huddle. Madrid in possession and in control.

Ronaldo is mobbed by the whole Madrid squad. The Portuguese chested down a Sergio Ramos ball and fired excellently past Neuer, though replays show that he was comfortably offside.

Along with Vidal's red card - that was never a sending off - Bayern have every right to feel aggrieved.

GOAL! Real Madrid 2-2 Bayern Munich (Ronaldo)

Robben picks up a yellow card for dissent after being tripped by Marcelo.

At the other end, Carvajal's ball just evades Ronaldo, who was adjudged offside anyway.

Asensio combines well with Vazquez and forces Neuer into a save. The resulting corner comes to nothing but Madrid soon rob the ball high up the pitch. Modric's ball just evades Ronaldo, and the Portuguese squirms a shot wide.

Claims for a Real Madrid penalty waved away by the referee as Casemiro falls after pressure from Boateng.

Bayern break up the other end through Robben, who feeds Costa, but the Brazilian fails to find Kimmich.

We might not have had the drama that there has been at the Bernabeu, but my goodness we have had a night to remember. Atletico worthy winners in the end. Leicester outstanding but just lacked composure when it mattered.

Ronaldo turns and stings the palms of Neuer with a rasping effort. The ball is recycled to Marcelo, who unleashes a driven cross-cum-shot that flies wide and out for a goal kick.

Our attention switches over to the Bernabeu. Real Madreid and Bayern Munich are currently duking it out in extra-time. Will the 10 men of Munich hold on for penalties?

Full-time Leicester City 1-1 Atletico Madrid

It's all over for Leicester. The Premier League champions fought valiantly and did themselves proud, but they simply came up against a superior team in Atletico, who deservedly go through to the semi-finals.

The Foxes had Simeone's men rocking in the second half - Savis and Lucas produced two vital blocks - but that's all she wrote for Shakespeare's side.

Into stoppage time at the King Power Stadium. Atletico looking the most likely to score now. Leicester are dead on their feet, waiting for the final bell to end their Champions League fairytale.

Griezmann bursts through and rides a couple of challenges before eventually being stopped by Drinkwater. Atletico come again on the counter but Correa's effort is dealt with by Schmeichel. Not long left now.

RED CARD! Arturo Vidal is sent off at the Bernabeu. Still 2-1 to Bayern.

The game at the King Power is stopped as Wes Morgan receives treatment. The Leicester captain has produced a valiant display this season but is now hobbling off, Amartey replaces him. Seven minutes left to play.

He only scores crucial goals...

Who else?

Mahrez draws a foul from Saul and earns a free-kick 25 yards out, in a good position.

The Algerian picks himself up and tries to bend a pacey effort into the top left corner, but it flashes just over.

An offensive change by Simeone as he withdraws Luis fro Correa. Will the presence of another attacker stem Leicester's tide or allow them more space in and around their area?

A rare foray forward for Atletico looks dangerous but is squandered as Lucas' cross fails to find an Atleti body. Leicester break immediately and Vardy has another sight of goal, but his header trickles into Oblak's arms.

Nick Howson at the King Power Stadium

Pandemonium in the East Midlands. Leicester have turned the momentum of this tie around and if they can discover some composure there is legs in this tie.

Vardy almost doubles his tally on the night but once again, an Atletico defender is in just the right position. Savic the one to deny Leicester this time.

Just over 20 minutes left, Shakespearea's men are giving it all they've got. Simeone has brought on Torres to replace Carrasco.

The Foxes have their tails up and Atletico are rocking at the moment, with a couple of miscued clearances.

Ulloa goes close to giving Leicester the lead but his goalbound effort is blocked by Lucas for a corner.

Albrighton's ball is not dealt with at all by Atletico. The ball falls to Chilwell, whose effort is blocked by Savic, but the richochet falls to Vardy who makes no mistake with a superb finish under pressure.

Game on?

GOAL! Leicester City 1-1 Atletico Madrid (Vardy)

The game is stopped as Saul receives treatment. The young Spaniard was fouled by Mahrez, who mistimed his challenge.

Impressive stuff from Lewandowski, who has scored six penalties out of the six he has taken in the Champions League.

Atletico are forced into a change as Juanfran, who seems to have picked up a knock, is replaced by Lucas.

GOAL! Real Madrid 0-1 Bayern Munich (Lewandowski)

It's suddenly become a lot more interesting in the Spanish capital.

Chilwell fires a half-volley over the bar. A fierce strike, which should really have been put on target in the grand scheme of things. Leicester pressing hard, but Atleti standing strong.

The young left-back then gets ahead of Juanfran to meet Albrighton's cross, but his effort does not test Oblak.

Leicester have started brightly and on the front foot. Mahrez fires a delicious ball into the box that falls to Albrighton, whose effort is nodded over for a corner.

A double change for Leicester City.

Ulloa and Chilwell have replaced Okazaki and Benalouane. Shakespeare has reverted to a three-at-the-back formation as he seeks another miracle.

Second half is under way.

Unsavoury scenes among Bayern's travelling contingent. Riot police are now on the scene.

Half-time at the Bernabeu - Real Madrid 0-0 Bayern Munich.

Zidane's men going through as it stands, though Bayern are very much alive and kicking in the Spanish capital.

Half-time: Leicester City 0-1 Atletico Madrid

A more competitive clash compared to the first leg, but the scoreline is the same. Saul Niguez's superb header has put Atletico Madrid in a rather comfortable position, with Leicester now needing to score three goals against one of the meanest defences in Europe.

Atletico started brightly but Leicester have applied pressure themselves, Riyad Mahrez and Shinji Okazaki have come close to Oblak's goal, but the Slovakian has not been tested whatsoever.

The Foxes have not shamed themselves by any stretch of the imagination, but it would take something rather special to change the course of the tie in the second half.

Saul Niguez is usually good for an important goal in the Champions League. He scored a wondrous solo effort against Bayern Munich in the semi-final last year, and has given Atletico substantial breathing space at the King Power.

Superb build-up play from Atletico drags Leicester around the whole of the King Power Stadium but is eventually wasted by Luis, who shoots wildly over the bar.

Carrasco is then set free by Koke but Benalouane and Schmeichel do just enough to stifle the exciting Belgian, who seems to have been given a free role by manager Simeone.

A frustrating night for Mahrez and co so far...

Mahrez fires a shot in anger as Leicester probe from a set-piece but Oblak gets down well to make the save, which was scuffed by the Algerian.

Saul tries the spectacular and bends a seering effort towards goal but Schmeichel was more than equal to it. Leicester are visibly rocked by the goal, but the crowd are still in fine voice.

Nick Howson at the King Power Stadium

Leicester deflated by that superb Atletico opener. Daylight between these two sides at last, and it looks pretty crucial for the Spanish outfit.

An absolutely delightful cross from Filipe Luis is met cleanly by Saul, who directs his header expertly past Kasper Schmeichel and into the net. It's his sixth of the season, and by far the most crucial. Atleti have one foot in the semi-final, Leicester have a mountain to climb.

GOAL! Leicester City 0-1 Atletico Madrid (Saul)

Leicester win a free-kick in a dangerous area. Atletico hold a high line in order to allow Oblak to come and claim the ball, which is exactly what he did.

Mahrez, who has grown into the game, runs at the heart of Atletico's defence but his ball to Vardy was too late. After a dominant start, The Spaniards are on the back foot.

The first real chance of the games goes to Leicester. Mahrez feeds Vardy brilliantly, the England international picks his head up and finds the onrushing Okazaki, who flashes a first-time effort over the bar.

A very encouraging five minutes from the the Foxes.

Nick Howson at the King Power Stadium

Decent start from Leicester, frustrating Atletico at one end and giving them something to think about at the other. But needing a goal to at least secure extra time there is only so long a performance of this standard will do.

Nick Howson at the King Power Stadium

Wes Morgan doesn't look even remotely fit at the back for Leicester. Moving around very gingerly in the opening minutes.

Leicester force a corner after prolonged phase of pressure. Mahrez's delivery is good but is clearerd away but Atleti, who receive a foul after Benalouane trips the wily Godin.

Carrasco raids down the byline and whips a teasing ball into the area, but the onrushing Koke cannot connect. Beginning to look a little ominous for Leicester.

Sauls sees fit to unleash a shot, which drifts harmlessly wide of Schmeichel's left post. 0-0, quarter of an hour gone.

Leicester going long at every given opportunity but have not had any joy so far. Drinkwater's pass is cut out and Griezmann has space to run at the Foxes backline, but his exploits are dealt with by the Foxes.

Leicester probe for the first time but Fuchs' cross is dealt with by Savic. Drinkwater then latches on to a Vardy flick but runs into a blind alley.

Much brighter start from the Foxes compared to what they served up last week.

Nick Howson at the King Power Stadium

Wes Morgan doesn't look even remotely fit at the back for Leicester. Moving around very gingerly in the opening minutes.

Schmeichel takes a risk as he cuts the ball past an onrushing Griezmann with ice in his veins. Atletico very much on the front foot during the opening exchanges, though no clear cut chances as of yet.

Atletico Madrid get things under way.

The message 'forever fearless' hangs from the home end; fireworks [during the day] fly into the air, someone pokes me in the head with a foil flag which are making the King Power Stadium sound like a giant crisp packet; white smoke is fired from upturned jets lined around each stand. Quite a build-up.

Quite astonishing atmosphere at the King Power Stadium. A roar greets the iconic Champions League music, while fireworks light up the sky.

Let's hope for some on the pitch, too.

Flags are everywhere and the teams are in the tunnel. Kick-off just moments away.

Nick Howson at the King Power Stadium

The foil flags are very much out in full force before kick-off, accompanied by the band from the city - Kasabian [who mostly support Leeds] - booming over the PA. Very noisy, and even the Atletico fans are impressed if the camera phone lights I can see in the away end are anything to go by.

The Foxes are being put through their paces ahead of one of the biggest matches in their history.

Kick off is just 10 minutes away. A reminder of the team news:

Leicester City: Schmeichel; Simpson, Morgan, Benalouane, Fuchs; Albrighton, Ndidi, Drinkwater, Mahrez; Vardy, Okazaki.

Atletico Madrid: Oblak,Juanfran, Savic, Godin, Filipe Luís, Koke, Giménez, Gabi, Saul, Carrasco, Griezmann.

Leicester line up in a 4-4-2 formation. It's served them well in the past.

Nick Howson at the King Power Stadium

Flags adorn each and every seat at the King Power Stadium, ensuring both sets of players will enter a real cauldron-like atmosphere just before kick-off tonight. Many have patronisingly questioned whether Diego Simeone's side will have encountered an atmosphere akin to the one which will confront them this evening but I can't imagine the Antoine Griezmann's and Koke's of this world will be intimidated by what may be going on around them. It should make for a great and memorable evening.

Craig Shakespeare's pre-match thoughts:

"He's ( Wes Morgan's) ready, it's a big bonus for us. He came through training the last three days. I knew he way okay yesterday and we made sure there was no reaction this morning. Thankfully their wasn't.

"An early goal would be nice but we must respect the opposition. They're a terrific side, we start as underdogs but we've been underdogs before and we know the task ahead.

"Depending on their shape, we'll have to be aware of (Griezmann) but if we're on the front foot we'll deny him space. We have to be respectful of them and whoever they call upon.

There is Ronaldo, there is Benzema, but there is no Gareth Bale for Real Madrid this evening.

Real boss Zinedine Zidane revealed that the Welshman has a 'small niggle' but is hopeful he will be in contention for El Clasico on Sunday.

"When he came back he was desperate to be involved and now he has a small niggle that is preventing him from being fully fit," Zidane said.

"I hope it is nothing and in a few days he can be with us again."

The France international is pretty lethal in front of goal. Will he carry on his impressive European record tonight?

A little snippet from Leicester City boss Craig Shakespeare:

"We wanted to check Wes Morgan this morning but he's ready to go. We're underdogs tonight, but we've been underdogs before."

Real Madrid have the chance to make history tonight.

Los Blancos have reached the semi-finals of the Champions League in each of the last six seasons and would hold the record outright - Barcelona have also achieved the feat - should they do it for a seventh consecutive campaign.

Leicester City's fans are already basking in the spotlight enough as it is, but on a day where they team could reach the Champions League semi-finals the sun really come out for Foxes fans. It is the most glorious mid-spring day in the East Midlands and supporters are certainly making an evening of it.

Good evening and welcome to IB Times UK's live coverage of Leicester City vs Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich.

Leicester go into the second leg at the King Power Stadium 1-0 down from the encounter at the Vicente Calderon, and while they may have shown that nothing is impossible in football last season, their task of progressing into the semi-finals of the Champions League is rather strenuous, made harder by the potential of both Robert Huth and Wes Morgan through suspension and injury respectively.

In Spain, Real Madrid host Bayern with two crucial goals and a slender lead under their belt. Los Blancos are remarkably difficult to beat at the Bernabeu, but Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti, who previously coached Real Madrid, is a master on the European stage.
