Everyone has had some kind of reaction to Lenny Kravitz exposing his penis but perhaps the best so far has come from his friend, Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler, who texted the singer after the wardrobe malfunction.

The Fly Away singer was performing at Gronda Lund in Stockholm, Sweden on 3 August when he ripped his leather trousers while squatting down, causing his manhood to hang loose in full glare of the audience.

Dubbed #penisgate, the footage has gone viral on social media and Kravitz, 51, has addressed the embarrassing incident on Twitter by sharing a screengrab of a text message sent by former American Idol host Tyler. The 67-year-old singer wrote: "Dude... No underwear and pierced... F**k me.. You never showed me that s**t."

Clearly realising that he was exposed, Kravitz is said to have temporarily left the stage for a few minutes before returning to finish the performance. Despite the faux pas, the singer was not ready to give up the leather and reappeared on stage wearing a fresh pair of trousers.

According to website The Local, a concertgoer recalled the incident telling Swedish newspaper Expressen: "The producer stepped up and said that they had 'some problems on stage'. A bit later Kravitz came out wearing other trousers. He said: 'Sorry, I ripped my trousers.' It was insane, I killed myself laughing. And then I called my mum who was there at the show as well. Her reaction was the same and she almost killed herself laughing too,' she continued, revealing it was all taken in jest."

The Always On The Run hitmaker is currently on the European leg of his tour in promotion of his 10th studio album Strut, which was released in September 2014. The rocker will perform two more dates in Europe before heading back to North America for shows in Brooklyn, Toronto, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Atlanta, to name a few.
