The 100 season 4
Lindsey Morgan as Raven in The 100 The CW

With Nuclear wave threatening to wipe out humanity in just a few days, Raven made a life changing decision that shocked everyone in The 100 season 4 episode 9 titled, DNR, that aired this Wednesday (26 April) at 9pm EST on The CW Network.

Raven revealed her plans to Murphy about not joining the team in the bunker, rather going on a "space walk". She said, "Do you have any idea what it feels like to be in pain every day?" she asked Murphy, and later added, "When I was space-walking, everything was right. I just want that again." When anyone asks, "Tell them I floated myself," she said, teasing an impending doom for her character.

Lindsey Morgan, who plays the doomed character, spoke about Raven's suicidal decision to Tv Line. She said, "I was shocked because Raven has always been so selfless, and I thought killing herself was actually very selfish of her. For once, she's doing something completely for herself, with no regard for her friends. I thought it was not very Raven-like, but I can empathize with her. She feels like she would be a waste in the bunker, taking up space and air that someone else could use."

Revealing that Raven has accepted her impending death, which looks like a sure possibility now, Morgan explained to the outlet, "It took me a minute to wrap my head around her decision and understand where she was coming from. It wasn't an easy decision to make, but she's facing her death head-on and accepting it. That's what it is, it's an acceptance of her death."

The episode found Raven confiding in Murphy about her plans. Teasing Murphy and Raven's "Murphy and Raven's "unique" relationship the actress said, "Murphy and Raven's relationship is very unique because of everything they've been through. I mean, he disabled her. I think he admires and respects her, in addition to feeling an insurmountable amount of guilt for what he did to her. He may fight her, but he's going to support her either way. I don't think he feels he can stop her."
