After going on a hiatus for almost a month, The Flash season 3 finally returns with new episodes this Tuesday (24 April) at 8pm EST on The CW Network.
Episode 19 is titled, The Once And Future Flash, where Barry Allen will travel to 2024 to find a way to save Iris West. Click here to watch The Flash season 3 live via The CW app. You can also watch the episode online by clicking here (only in the US).
Danielle Panabaker, whose character Caitlin Snow nearly died and became Killer Frost in the previous episode, spoke about playing the character of the villainess. Panabaker told ComicBook: "I am so excited. I've been like begging them since day one like, 'Guys, so when do I get a suit?'"
Teasing a new suit, the actress explained, "Earlier in the season, maybe episode 6, Cisco has a vibe where he sees Vibe and Killer Frost fighting. You will see that again and close viewers will notice that this version of Killer Frost looks a little bit different."
Grant Gustin and Candice Patton spoke to TV Line about the upcoming episode. Gustin, who plays Barry Allen in the show, told the outlet, "It's a lot of scenes with Barry and Barry. And they're pretty emotional scenes from both sides. [Future Barry is] about eight years older, which in a way made it more challenging for me, because it wasn't like, 'This is my grizzled, older self. They were some of the more challenging scenes I've done — if not just this year, in the whole series, because I'm my own scene partner."
Patton, who plays Iris West, told the outlet, "You see this older version of Barry Allen that hasn't really ever gotten over the death of Iris West. Everyone is changed because of it."
The official synopsis reads as follows:
Barry (Grant Gustin) travels to the future to find out Savitar's still unknown identity in the hopes of saving Iris (Candice Patton). Upon his arrival in 2024, Barry encounters future versions of his Team Flash friends, who, following the death of Iris, have become very different people, profoundly impacted by their showdown with Savitar. It will be up to Barry to infuse a sense of hope back into the team, as he proves to be hero his future friends have been waiting for. Meanwhile, back in 2017, the hunt for Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) continues.
