Charlie Sheen confirms he is HIV-positive

Hollywood actor Charlie Sheen has confirmed that he is living with HIV. The 50-year-old star made the announcement to Matt Lauer on NBC's Today show.

Sheen, who at one time was the highest paid actor on US TV, earning close to $2m dollars per episode for Two and a Half Men, said that he was diagnosed with the infection "roughly four years ago", adding: "It's a hard three letters to absorb."

Reports first began circulating about his health status after the National Inquirer ran a story claiming that an unnamed Hollywood A-lister was HIV-positive. During his candid sit-down he admitted to paying off people who threatened to reveal his secret.

In an open later to fans, the famed hell-raiser said: "I accept this condition not as a curse or scourge, but rather as an opportunity and a challenge. An opportunity to help others. A challenge to better myself".

Justin Bieber's friend dies in Paris attacks

And over in the world of music, Justin Bieber has paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the Paris attacks, including his friend and Universal Music Group executive Thomas Ayad. Posting an emotional message on Twitter, the pop star expressed his devastation and said his friend was greatly missed. "Make sure you still appreciate people while you have them," he told fans.

Thomas was one of 89 people who were killed at the Bataclan Theatre in the co-ordinated attacks that took place in the French capital on 13 November.

Justin's online outpouring comes days after he broke down during a live show as he and thousands of fans paid tribute to the victims of the tragedy.

Adele teases new album

And finally, Adele has teased fans with a performance of her powerful new ballad When We Were Young, ahead of the release of her comeback album, 25.

The singer's stunning live performance was taped at The Church Studios in London and she treated fans to a preview clip during a special with Australia's 60 Minutes TV show. It's safe to say that this woman can do no wrong.

25 is set for release on 20 November.
