Overview

Liverpool come into this game after their disappointing display against Arsenal at the Emirates in the last league fixture. Brendan Rodgers saw his side lose 2-0 to the Gunners with Santi Cazorla's first half goal followed by Aaron Ramsey' second half strike that saw the north London side seal three points.

The defeat against Arsenal has resulted in the Merseyside club failing to climb to the top of the league table. Liverpool are third with 20 points and are level on points with second place Chelsea and trail the league leaders, the Gunners by five points.

Meanwhile, Fulham enter this fixture after losing their last fixture 3-1 at home against the Premier League champions Manchester United. Antonio Valencia opened the scoring for David Moyes' side before Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney's goals in the space of two minutes saw the Red Devils register a comfortable victory.

The latest result has seen the Cottagers sit in the lower half of the table. Fulham are 16 with 10 points from 10 games and two points ahead of 18th place Norwich City. Jol would be looking for a win against Liverpool when his side take on the Reds at Anfield on Saturday.

What Managers Say

Brendan Rodgers: "If you look at where we're at if you're averaging two points a game you would like to think you would get into the Champions League.Come Saturday if we can get another three points - which we'll be fighting hard for - that would take us above that."

Martin Jol: "We experienced this before at this club over the last 10 years, so hopefully we will get results. Look at Cardiff; they were in the same position then they won the derby game against Swansea and now they're fine. We need a few surprise results and maybe we can start against Liverpool."
