Actor D.B. Woodside may have dropped a hint when asked about Charlotte's appearance in "Lucifer" Season 5. The actor expressed his interest to see the character make a comeback.

Charlotte played an important role in the second and third season of the Netflix series. She brought excitement and a new challenge for Amenadiel and Lucifer (and to the fans for that matter). So, when asked whether the character will return in the final season, Woodside could only hope for the best.

"I would love for her to come back for the final season. Love!" he tells a fan during a recent Twitter Q&A.

I haven’t done a Twitter q & a in quite a long time. Let’s go for it. Ask me anything. 😈 #AskDB

Woodside, who plays Lucifer's brother Amenadiel, even revealed that his favorite moment in the series included Charlotte.

"Losing his powers, regaining his powers, flying Mom @trutriciahelfer to Heaven," he adds.

Charlotte was a crooked lawyer whose death in the human world paved a way for Amenadiel and Lucifer's mother to possess her body. She became Goddess of all creation or "mom" up until the end of Season 2, when Lucifer sent her to an empty spiritual realm to rule instead of sending her back to hell or to heaven.

Charlotte returned to her human self (as if she did not die at all) and all throughout Season 3, she tried to make amends for all the bad things she did as a lawyer. She eventually also learned about what happened to her human body. Charlotte and Dan even romantically hit it off but sadly, Charlotte died in the final. Amenadiel got his wings back and he carried her to heaven.

"Lucifer" Season 4 only mentioned Charlotte and she did not even appear in flashback scenes. Fans can only hope that she returns in "Lucifer" Season 5 although Tricia Helfer, who played the character, has not given any hints about her return to the series.

Meanwhile, filming for "Lucifer" Season 5 has officially started. Fans cannot wait to see the show back on air although Netflix has yet to announce when it airs. The estimate is a 2020 release. This gives fans enough time to binge-watch the previous seasons to tide them over the long wait. Season 5 has been given 16 episodes so it's going to be worth the wait.
