Windows 10 Mobile April cumulative update
A sneak peek to Windows 10 features for Lumia phones ahead of the public release Microsoft

Microsoft's new Windows operating system is running on more than 75 million devices since its launch on 29 July and is soon expected to hit the 100-million milestone. While desktop, laptop and tablet users have been enjoying the new upgrade for a while, Microsoft now offers a sneak peek into the new features of Windows 10 Mobile.

The Windows 10 software delivers familiar operations as the apps automatically adapt to the different screen sizes of the device. Lumia owners will get the same universal apps - Outlook Mail, Out Calendar, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and more but with rich formatting capabilities and powered by the Cloud. With these apps, users can accomplish their tasks on the phone itself without any need for a desktop. Microsoft believes this will help businesses become more productive.

With Windows 10, users will find it easier to develop Line of Business (LOB) apps that work across all platforms: PCs, tablets and Lumia handsets, promises Microsoft. As its security features are the big draw of Lumia phones, Windows 10 will also offer businesses and employees control over their data with personal and professional content being kept separate and in a secure manner. Automatic data separation, for instance, keeps the owner's corporate and personal information apart.

Microsoft has already revealed the first wave of Lumia handsets that will receive the upgrade when it becomes available. The list includes Lumia 430, 435, 532, 535, 540, 635 (1GB RAM), 640, 640 XL, 735, 830, and 930. Note that the features will vary according to the device. Microsoft is also working to bring the Windows 10 Mobile experience to other Lumia devices as well. To get the upgrade a phone needs 8GB internal memory.
