In April she made history by becoming the first black ambassador for cosmetics giant Lancôme and now Hollywood star Lupita Nyong'o has made her stunning debut.

A newly-released image from her ad campaign shows the 12 Years a Slave actress looking predictably flawless as the new face of the French brand.

Her skin glows as she promotes Lancome's Tient Idole Ultra 24H foundation, which is available in 28 shades.

The image, shot by renowned photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, has already garnered over 66,000 'likes' after she posted it on her Instagram page. "The secret I never intended to keep," she captioned the snap.

The French brand previously stated that Nyong'o was hand-picked for the role because of her unique beauty.

"Both talented and committed, true to her African beauty, and showing a great curiosity and open-mindedness in her career choices, Lupita is by essence the Lancôme woman," Lancôme boss Françoise Lehmann said.

"A strikingly beautiful and intelligent woman."

Nyong'o joins fellow actresses including of Penélope Cruz, Kate Winslet and Julia Roberts who have previously represented the cosmetics giant.

The Kenyan beauty's new partnership with Lancôme comes after an incredible few months.

In March, she took home the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her breakthrough role in 12 Years a Slave, she was recently crowned People Magazine's Most Beautiful Woman and she graces the cover of July's Vogue.
