Madonna's former boyfriend Dan Gilroy has released private bedroom tapes of the Material Girl hit-maker before she became famous, Page Six has reported. The frontman of Breakfast Club handed over personal letters and recordings of the songstress to filmmaker Guy Guido, who is coming up with an intimate documentary on filmmaker Guy Ritchie's former wife.

The documentary titled Emmy And The Breakfast Club will focus on the her life from 1979 to 1982 when the singer was living in an abandoned synagogue in Corona, Queens, along with Dan and his brother Ed Gilroy. Dan and Madonna dated for around 18 months.

Meanwhile, Guido said that the documentary will reveal everything from "sweet little love notes that she would leave for Dan" to "very poetic love letters expressing her feelings for him and the struggles of their relationship".

"There are some intimate things, but at this point they're ready to share. Especially Dan — he's been holding this in a very long time," he told Page Six.

One of the videos handed over by Dan includes a 20-minute recording of the two in bed "having fun with each other and [involved in] bedroom talk, and also getting into a little philosophical life discussion". "[It's] silly, romantic bantering," he added.

The filmmaker further said that although the crux of the movie will be based on Madonna's relationship with Gilroy, the film will explores the 57-year-old singer's ambition and drive to make it big in the music industry.

Guido is hopeful filming for the documentary would end in January 2017 and said that a major distributor will release it.

IBTimes UK has contacted Madonna's representatives for comment and is awaiting a reply.
