A girl aged six fell to her death after being dragged by an escalator at a shopping centre in Malaysia.
CCTV captured the moment Nurhayada Sofia suddenly disappeared through a gap and plunged five floors.
It happened while her mother was on the phone to her husband, during the trip to the Kenanga Wholesale City mall in Pudu, Malaysia.
Nurhayada is seen in the footage playing with the escalator handrail with another child. She then appears to be dragged over the side and vanishes.
The video shows shocked bystanders looking over the edge in shock. Nurhayada died after sustaining serious head injuries.
Her distraught father Musa said: "We were still arguing when I heard a commotion and the line was cut.
"Minutes later, my wife called back to say that Nurhayada was dead. I just couldn't believe it."
An investigation has been launched by police.
