A man in Chile is seriously injured after the lift he entered malfunctioned and skyrocketed into the roof of the building at 80kmh.
In the video posted on YouTube, 31-year-old passenger Jose Vergara Acevedo is seen entering a lift on the first floor of a building in Providencia, an area of the capital Santiago.
The lift quickly rises 30 storeys in 15 seconds, and is estimated the lift reached speeds of 80kmh.
After reaching the 31st floor, the lift crashed into the building's roof, leaving Acevedo with head and leg injuries.
