Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing 15-year-old Dutch prodigy Tahith Chong from Feyenoord.

According to the Daily Mail, the Red Devils were impressed by the young Dutchman's performances for the Eredivisie club's youth team in the Premier Cup tournament that was held at United's Carrington training base last month.

Chong, who has represented Netherlands in the U16 level, can play in midfield and as a centre-forward. The youngster is said to have a good burst of speed to go with his technical skills and eye for goal.

United have invited the Feyenoord starlet for a trial, so as to have a closer look at his talents and convince him to sign.

United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is keen to show that the Old Trafford club have not foregone their youth policy after spending £150m in the summer to recruit new players.

The Manchester club have already signed Chong's compatriot Timothy Fosu-Mensah, a 16-year-old centre-back from Eredivisie champions Ajax and are also said to be keen on signing Norwegian prodigy Martin Odegaard, who at 15, has already been capped at the international level by his country.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils new boy Radamel Falcao has thanked United fans for the reception he received when he came on as a substitute in his debut appearance for the club against QPR on Sunday.

"I am very happy for this victory and the support was great. I want to continue that way. I want to say thank you to the fans and I enjoyed that a lot, this match. It was fantastic. I almost scored. The goalkeeper was good. I hope to score the next game," Falcao said, as quoted on United's official site.

Falcao also believes that United will do well once all the players start to gel with one another and admits it was a 'good feeling' to make his debut at Old Trafford.

"It felt good to make my debut here at Old Trafford and I am happy to get the win. I am enjoying this moment. It is an extraordinary stadium, a legendary stadium. Bit by bit, we will gel together as a team and the new players will feel more comfortable. I hope everything continues for us like it has," the Colombian international added.
