Arsenal go top of the Premier League at the second time of asking after beating Bournemouth and they will end the year top of the tree if Leicester fail to beat Man City on Tuesday. Elsewhere, Manchester United have gone eight games without a win for the first time for 26 years after being held by Chelsea. It was better from Louis van Gaal's side but the winless run with surely be of huge concern. West Ham United meanwhile completed a second half turnaround to beat Southampton. Andy Carroll, who is expected to leave the club in January, netted the winner with 10 minutes left.

Full time: Manchester United 0-0 Chelsea

Full time: Arsenal 2-0 Bournemouth

Three minutes added on at Old Trafford and Manchester United should be playing them with 10 men after a horror tackle from Wayne Rooney on Oscar. The England captain is high and rash and Martin Atkinson somehow overlooks the severity of the tackle.

Time running out at Old Trafford to find a winner. Second half has been a real disappointment by Rooney has perhaps the best so far, but he lashes over on the volley at the back post.

Goal: West Ham United 2-1 Southampton (Andy Carroll)

Goal: West Ham United 1-1 Southampton (Mikhail Antonio)

Ramires on and Willian off for Chelsea. Borthwick-Jackson on for the returning Darmian for Manchester united. Twenty minutes left.

Goal: Arsenal 2-0 Bournemouth (Mesut Ozil)

Classic Arsenal goal probably puts this one to bed. The German exchanges passes with Giroud, brings the ball down and strokes it past Boruc. He has been sublime today and that caps it all off.

Josh King closes in o the Arsenal goal but Gabriel gets back to make a fine block. Bournemouth as adventurous as ever in pursuit of an equaliser.

Thibaut Courtois somehow keeps Ander Herrera out as Martial goes past Ivanovic again but the Belgian stopper makes a remarkable stop to keep it out.

The best of David de Gea in the opening minutes. Pedro is denied by the Spaniard before Azpilicueta's follow-up is saved by the legs of the United 'keeper.

And we're back under way at Old Trafford too.

Back under way at The Emirates Stadium. No changes at the break.

Manchester United look reborn as Louis van Gaal fights for his job but they are yet to grab the lead against a insipid Chelsea, who bar Eden Hazard have not looked up to the fight. At the Emirates, Mesut Ozil has run the show but Arsenal only lead by a single Gabriel goal, despite their dominance over Bournemouth. Southampton meanwhile lead West Ham United by a Dusan Tadic close-range strike. Second halves on the way.

Half time: West Ham 0-1 Southampton

Half time: Manchester United 0-0 Chelsea

Half time: Arsenal 1-0 Bournemouth

Willian hits a free-kick straight at David de Gea. Wasted chance from the Brazilian. Half time approaching.

Arsenal look like scoring from every corner they get and again Gabriel threatens, flicking the ball on at the near post and the ball almost falls to Aaron Ramsey but Bournemouth smuggle the ball away.

United and Chelsea fans exchanging jibes regarding their rivals' European and domestic plight. Game has just gone off the boil in the last couple of minutes but no doubt United are on top.

No idea how Arsenal are not 2-0 up. Giroud's flicked header from another Ozil corner hits the post and with Gabriel in close vicinity he can't direct the rebound on target from two yards out.

Eden Hazard has looked very lively for Chelsea in the opening half an hour and United know his threat, with Herrera stopping his progress with a cynical foul. From the resulting free-kick, two Blues are felled but there is nothing doing from referee Martin Atkinson perspective.

It is all happening at Old Trafford and John Obi Mikel is booked for ending a United counter attack with a cynical foul on Martial. Rooney is then denied by a fine save by Courtois before Chelsea win a free-kick in their own half as Schneiderlin is booked for a foul on Willian. Game has a real ferocious pace about it.

Goal: Arsenal 1-0 Bournemouth (Gabriel)

Mesut Ozil swings a corner in from the right and Gabriel escapes his marker and crashes a header past Boruc. Reflective of the Gunners' recent improvement but harsh on Bournemouth.

Arsenal should be ahead. A cross from the right comes all the way through to Theo Walcott, who takes a swing at the ball but fails to make contact and Boruc claims the cross.

Hard ton stress just how different this Manchester United performance is to what Louis van Gaal's side have produced this season. Has the Dutch coach relinquished the shackles?

First moment of encouragement for Arsenal as Calum Chambers gets free down the right but his cross is way over-hit.

Anthony Martial drifts past Ivanovic like he isn't there, unleashes a fine strike which beats Courtois but rebounds off the inside of the post. Second time United have hit the woodwork in this opening 17 minutes. Really good atmosphere inside Old Trafford as a result of United's fast start.

Goal: West Ham United 0-1 Southampton (Dusan Tadic)

Bournemouth have begun marginally the better in this game and they almost take the lead when Arter gets in behind but his cross to Josh King is cut out by the long legs of Per Mertesacker.

At the Emirates, not much to report in the early stages with Bournemouth throwing caution to the wind against an Arsenal side very much taking baby steps after being dismantled by Southampton on Boxing Day.

United have begun well at Old Trafford and there is another effort on goal as Morgan Schneiderlin shoots across the ball but it is off target.

Problem for Harry Arter at the Emirates Stadium. He goes up for a challenge for Calum Chambers and comes off second best, and needs treatment on the outfield before he can be passed to resume the game.

Almost a much-needed goal for Louis van Gaal from their first attack as Juan Mata rattles the bar of his former club. Now Chelsea attack on the break as Hazard gets away from Smalling but Ashley Young clears the ball behind. From the corner. John Terry is denied by a superb save by De Gea.
