French actress Marion Cotillard has described her Allied co-star Brad Pitt as an 'amazing partner' and an 'amazing actor.'

During promotions of their WWII drama, the actress said she has nothing but praise for Pitt.

In an interview with The Telegraph on Friday (25 November) the 41-year-old praised the Hollywood heartthrob for his professionalism, describing him as incredibly 'committed' to his role.

"I was very impressed by his determination and commitment and he's such a good man besides being an amazing actor," she added. "He's proved it many times."

While the chemistry between the two prompted rumours of an alleged relationship, the La Vie En Rose actress admitted she found the film's sex scenes, shot in a car during a standstorm, very uncomfortable to film.

"It's an awkward situation," she explained. "We laughed because... this is so weird... And then we go into this, and then I'm going on top of you, and then we are going to kiss."

Marion, who is pregnant with her second child with long-term partner Guillame Canet, shut down rumours linking her romantically with the 52-year-old actor, in a post on social media shortly after it was announced that Pitt and his wife actress Angelina Jolie were to divorce, after 12 years together.

Commenting on the speculation during an interview on the Today Show last week she explained: "I never take anything personally when it doesn't concern me. So I didn't take it personally because I had nothing to do with those rumours or situation.'

"No I don't give energy to this and it was a wonderful, wonderful experience working with such a visionary director and amazing actor so that's all that matters."

Allied, directed by Robert Zemeckis, which follows a Canadian intelligence officer who fights against accusations that his wife is a German spy.

Making his first public appearance, at the recent LA premiere for the film after news of his marital breakdown made headlines, the father of six thanked fans for their support during his difficult few weeks.

He told E! News: "It's really sweet, everyone has been really kind out here. It's really nice to have all the support."

Jolie, 41, who has six children with Pitt, filed for divorce on 19 September citing irreconcilable differences, the day after an alleged altercation on a plane between the actor and their eldest son Maddox.

Pitt has since been cleared by the DCFS, who found no abuse.

While Jolie has requested full custody of the children, Pitt has pledged to fight back and is seeking joint physical and legal custody of Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, eight.
