After Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi, often referred to as the 'iPhone Killer' and 'Apple of China', managed to outdo big technology names such as Apple and Samsung in various parts of the world, another Chinese brand Meizu is now being touted as Xiaomi's replacement with respect to posing intense competition to well-known technology biggies across the globe.

Meizu's flagship smartphone, the MX4 Pro has been grabbing eyeballs ever since recent benchmark tests revealed its high-end technical specifications. Also, going by Bai Yongxiang's (CEO and President of Meizu) recent statement that his company received 7.7 million pre-orders for the MX4 (another Meizu smartphone), the brand looks capable of following in Xiaomi's footsteps with regard to overthrowing major international smartphone brands.

Now, the Meizu MX 4 Pro is all set to be launched officially on 19 November.

According to a GSMArena report that quotes a media invite sent out by Meizu, the MX4 Pro will be launched on 19 November, in an event to be held in the Chinese capital of Beijing.

However, the list of technical specifications that Meizu MX4 Pro would have is not revealed by the media invite.

But, according to recent benchmark tests, Meizu's MX4 is expected to be a high-ender, and the smartphone is expected to incorporate the following key hardware aspects:

  • 5.5in touchscreen display, with 5-finger gesture support
  • Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system; out of the box
  • An octa core CPU clocked at 2GHz, built within a Samsung Exynos 5 Octa SoC
  • 2.8GB RAM
  • 12GB internal storage
  • 19 MP rear camera, and a 4.8MP front snapper
  • Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and microUSB connectivity

Since the above technical specifications clearly indicate the high-end nature of the Meizu MX4 Pro, expect the device to have a relatively high price tag.
