CBS's popular police procedural drama The Mentalist Season 7 is yet to get a premiere date and fans are excited to know what will happen to their favourite characters Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) and Teresa Lisbon (Robin Tunney) in the upcoming season.

In a series of tweets, actor Tim Kang, who plays the popular character Kimball Cho teased fans that Season 7 will be the last of the CBS hit drama and also promised that the last season will be 'awesome.'

"Trust me. This last season will be awesome," Kang teased in his tweet.

Earlier he spilled more spoilers about this being the final series of the Mentalist and wrote "I'll do my best to document this last season," hinting further that the series may premiere during January 2015.

The first episode of the fan favourite series is titled 'Nothing But Blue Skies' followed by the second and third episodes 'The Greybar Hotel' and 'Orange Blossom Ice Cream'.

There are rumours that Simon Baker will direct a few episodes of the 13 episode final season of the Bruno Heller created series.

The finale of Season 6 was the happiest for fans whose long wait ended with the romantic kiss between Jane and Lisbon after the former broke the airport security to enter Lisbon's plane just to tell her how much he loved her.

"The transition to the FBI has been able to give us room structurally in the story to explore the potential for a relationship between Jane and Lisbon. The threat of Lisbon parting in a way has been able to give it its due and be able to play it out properly, as opposed to just a sprinkle here and there," Baker told the Hollywood Reporter.

There are reports that a new FBI rookie named Michelle Vega will join the 'much in love' couple to create a love triangle.

The Season 7 premiere episode opens two weeks after the Jisbon kiss and it will be interesting to witness their new chemistry as lovers in the show.

The Mentalist Season 7 premieres in January 2015 on CBS.
