The top two players in the Men's Singles arena, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic battle it out for glory in the final of the 2014 Sony Open Tennis at the Stadium Court in Miami on Sunday.

Overview

Nadal was scheduled to face seventh seed Tomas Berdych in the semi-final of the tournament, but had it easy as the Czech Republican withdrew from the tournament due to gastroenteritis on Friday.

The 27-year-old Spaniard has so far dropped only one set in the tournament. It happened against world number 12, Milos Raonic in the quarterfinal but Nadal won the match, 3-6, 7-5, 6-4.

Meanwhile, Djokovic received his second walkover in Miami this year after Kei Nishikori's withdrawal on Friday. The Japanese, who had earlier upset fourth and fifth seeded stars David Ferrer and Roger Federer in the fourth round and quarterfinals respectively, was forced to quit with an injury to his left groin.

In the third round, 30<sup>th seeded Florian Mayer too was unable to feature against Djokovic due to a groin injury.

The world number two had earlier sent defending champion and British number one Andy Murray packing out of the tournament in the quarterfinal, 6-3, 7-5, in straight sets last Wednesday.

Sunday's clash between Nadal and Djokovic is the 19<sup>th time they are meeting in a final and they are set to match their skills on the court for the 40<sup>th time in all competitions.

Djokovic had outwitted Nadal in the final during the 2011 edition of this tournament. The Serbian is eyeing his fourth title in Miami with other victories coming in the year 2007 and 2012.

This is Nadal's fourth final in Miami and the world number one is still seeking to lift his first title in Miami after being unsuccessful thrice in the past.
