Twerking sensation Miley Cyrus had advised aspiring young stars against acting.

The 20-year-old singer, who provoked controversy with her raunchy performance with Robin Thicke at the MTV VMAs, said that young fans should focus on enjoying their childhood because acting careers came with too much responsibility.

She imparted her words of wisdom in the latest issue of Notion magazine, which she covers wearing just a jumper and a pair of knickers.

"People are like, 'What's your advice to young people that want to be actors?' And I'm like, 'Don't do it', because you need to enjoy being a kid," she told her interviewer.

"People don't realise, but with so many responsibilities you hold an entire company on your back and you're a kid, so you're supposed to f**k up.

"Then when you do, it's the head of the company that ends up getting letters from 1,000 different people and that all comes down on him, which then comes down on me.

"I don't think any kid should be responsible for their personal life representing a company as big as that."

In the accompanying photoshoot, the once wholesome Hannah Montana star poses in a string of skimpy ensembles.

In one image, Cyrus shows off her breasts in a skintight mesh dress. She strikes a seductive poses while seated on a stool.

Another sees her exposing her toned midriff in a white PVC trousers and a matching crop top with the word "business" repeatedly scrawled across it. The look is completed with lashings of red lipstick and suggestive biting on her finger.

Cyrus has released promotional images for her new album Bangerz, which is set for release in the US on 8 October and includes her summer hit single We Can't Stop.

The images show her dressed in PVC while grabbing her crotch in one shot and displaying her breasts while holding balloons in another.
