Motorola's second generation Moto X smartphone is now up for pre-order in the UK.

High-street retailer, Phones 4u has opened up pre-orders for the new Moto X, which was unveiled at the IFA 2014, on contracts with various carrier networks such as Vodafone, EE, Orange and T-Mobile.

Vodafone is charging no upfront fees and just £34.50 per month for a contract period of 24 months with 600 minutes, unlimited texts and 1GB 4G data. EE users will have to pay £38.99 a month with unlimited minutes and texts and 4GB 4G data.

Those who plan to buy the Moto X (2nd Gen) from Orange will have to pay £34.99 every month. The deal also includes unlimited minutes and texts and 1GB data. Click here for more deals offered by carrier networks at Phones 4u for the new Moto X.

The retailer has mentioned that Motorola's premium handset will be available on 6 October.

Additionally, the unlocked SIM-free version of Moto X (2nd Gen) can be pre-ordered at Clove for £419.99, which will be available in the store later this month.

On the other hand Unlocked Mobiles is charging £394.98 for the smartphone. The product page suggests that the new Moto X pre-orders are expected on 22 of this month. Other retailers in the country are yet to reveal their price deals.
