Law enforcement activity in the high‑profile disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, mother of TODAY show host Savannah Guthrie, has continued to evolve as investigators scour her Arizona residence for fresh evidence.

On February 25, drone footage captured a heavy presence of federal agents and detectives at the 84‑year‑old's Tucson property, raising questions about new lines of inquiry nearly four weeks into the investigation.

Renewed Search At The Tucson Home

Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Pima County Sheriff's Department investigators had been looking into several areas of the Guthrie residence, including the front door, the lawn, and the swimming pool area, as seen in drone images taken above the Guthrie residence in the Catalina Foothills area. Authorities were also spotted going in and out of the house during the hours-long activity.

Videos were taken of the deputies of the sheriff inspecting the front area where a masked individual was caught on surveillance camera the night Nancy disappeared. Off-camera, police, as well, were also pictured going around with backpacks and what seemed to be investigative gear, pointing to a systematic effort to reveal evidence that would advance the case.

Intensifying Search With Drones And On‑Foot Teams

The renewed interest in the home was preceded by a recent surge in public attention to the case and tips to the police following a personal video appeal by Savannah Guthrie and a reward of one million dollars to those who can provide information leading to the location of her mother.

During the days after the appeal, the FBI declared that it had obtained over 1,500 tips, out of an excess of 20,000 leads provided since the investigation had been launched.

Drone videos and aerial imagery have proved crucial in capturing the changing scene around the property, offering a broader perspective as teams go about the house and yard.

Some investigators in plainclothes were seen alongside uniformed agents, blurring the lines between tactical search and evidence documentation.
