Netflix's hit gothic series Wednesday has returned with a darker, sharper, and even more star-studded second season. So far, the reviews of the new season have been decent to mixed, but fans cannot keep calm about the new face they are about to see.

The show, which premiered on August 6, is the Addams Family spinoff that continues the tale of Wednesday Addams at Nevermore Academy, but this time, the Wednesday universe is expanding.

From award-winning actors to unexpected cameos, here's a look at all the new cast members who are and will be stealing things up at Nevermore in Season 2.

Steve Buscemi as Principal Barry Dort

Steve Buscemi plays Nevermore's new principal, Barry Dort. He replaces the late Larissa Weems (Gwendoline Christie) and brings a very different energy to the role. 'When you first meet him, you feel like you're coming into a new world,' co-showrunner Miles Millar told The Hollywood Reporter.

Dort is described as someone who takes pride in Nevermore's 'outcast' identity, even wearing school-branded caps and pushing back against outside influences.

Buscemi spoke about working with Ortega in an interview with PEOPLE. She said, 'She's just, she's so sharp and funny and down to earth. And just a wonderful actress, a wonderful scene partner.'

Billie Piper Plays Isadora Capri

Billie Piper joins the cast as Isadora Capri, Nevermore's head of music. The character is introduced as a former child prodigy with an intense and focused personality.

Piper, who had early success as a pop star in real life, told Radio Times she wanted to bring that experience to the role: 'a really accomplished musician' with 'an interesting past of her own.'

Christopher Lloyd Returns to the Addams World

Christopher Lloyd, best known for playing Uncle Fester in the 1990s Addams Family films, returns to the franchise as Professor Orloff. His character is a long-serving teacher at Nevermore who keeps a particularly close eye on Pugsley Addams this term.

Ortega spoke about Lloyd joining the cast on Good Morning America, saying, 'I don't know how to process that, his history in film in general, but then also his relation to the Addams Family.'

Lady Gaga Makes a Guest Appearance

Lady Gaga appears in a guest role later in the season as Rosaline Rotwood, a teacher at Nevermore with a quiet but unsettling presence. Her casting was revealed at Netflix's Tudum event, where she performed a medley inspired by the show.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, co-creator Alfred Gough said, 'She seemed perfect... We were excited to find her a small role in the show.'

Joanna Lumley as Grandmama Hester Frump

Joanna Lumley takes on the role of Hester Frump, Morticia's mother. She's a key figure in the Addams family's past and present, and has a close connection to Wednesday.

'Hester is anarchic, rich and powerful,' Lumley told What to Watch. 'She had huge abilities, but says she's retired them, although she can occasionally fish them out of the deep.'

Other New Additions

Other than these additions, more exciting names have also joined the beloved show. Evie Templeton joins as Agnes DeMille, a student who admires Wednesday and wants to be like her. Owen Painter plays Slurp, a reanimated corpse who has a connection to the school's history.

Meanwhile, Haley Joel Osment appears in the opening scenes of season 2 as the Kansas City Scalper, a serial killer with a strange obsession. There is also Thandiwe Newton, who plays Dr Rachael Fairburn, a psychiatrist at the facility where Tyler Galpin is being held.

Heather Matarazzo also features this season as Judi, the executive assistant to Dr Fairburn. Hence, the Wednesday season 2 is packed, which is expected to elevate the existing story of the show.
