Paris Hilton Reveals Why She Always Wears a Brown Wig When Visiting Disneyland or Shopping Malls

Paris Hilton has been known for her fashion sense, but she also uses her style to stay under the radar.

The socialite made a name for herself via modeling and reality TV in the 90s and the early 2000s, but she also developed a technique that allows her to step away from the limelight. Hilton shared that wearing a brown wig allows her to avoid being recognised:

'If I wanted to be low-key, or if I'm going to Disneyland or the mall or something on the weekend, I always wear a brown wig.'

Hilton explained that she prefers wearing a wig because she doesn't want to mess with her blond hair by dyeing it. She had worn a wig for the GucciCore Fashion Show in New York this May, appearing with rich brunette hair by suggestion of the creative director for Gucci, Demna Gvasalia. Since then, Hilton added the shade as one of her options for going undercover.

Hilton had been in the public eye from a very young age due to her connections to Hollywood and multiple celebrity friends. The 45-year old had met a lot of people in her career, some of which gave her trust issues.

Hilton had appeared in the 'Hayu Presents...' podcast in August, saying that she's never out of the loop on what is going on in celebrity circles, but has struggled to find people she can trust. She once described herself as a sweet person who was open to others, but learned to be cautious and read people's true intentions.

'Yeah, also just not to take life so seriously. I think that, you know, growing up and just having so much fame at such an early age can be traumatizing sometimes,' she spoke on the podcast.

Hilton also spoke about her experience being bullied in boarding school, which she credited for preparing her for fame. She noted that surviving the bullying as a student gave her the assurance that she could withstand anything.

When speaking to Us about her style, Hilton explained that she didn't always have the self-confidence she brings to the runways.

'I feel like I developed confidence over time,' she shared. 'I was always shy growing up, but then when I moved to New York City, and especially during Fashion Week, I feel like is when I really would like come to life, and, like, I learned how to do the runway walk, and just being on the catwalk and fashion, and especially wearing something like this, you can't help but feel confident.'

Hilton's fashion sense runs in the family as well. She told Us that her 2-year old daughter, London, is 'already' raiding her closet 'all the time.'

'She's only 2 and a half, and she's coming in my closet, trying to try on my shoes now, wearing the purses, the outfits,' the fashionista explained. 'She's already trying, and she's a mini fashionista. She's like a mini me. She's so gorgeous, so sweet, and she can raid my closet whenever she likes.'

Hilton continued, 'She is the luckiest girl in the world because [of] the amount of clothes that she's going to have, and I tell her that every day when I'm trying something on. She's like, "Mama, I love that." I'm like, honey, this is going to be all yours one day, so you are a very, very lucky girl.'
