Paris Hilton has revealed that she voted for Donald Trump in the US presidential election.

Ahead of the polls, the socialite remained tight-lipped when questioned about her political allegiances, but has since confirmed her support for the Republican who is a long-time family friend.

During an Australian TV interview this week on Network Ten's The Project, the 35-year-old was asked if she voted for Trump.

"I've known him since I was a little girl, so yes," she replied. "I've known him my entire life and he's always been incredibly supportive of me," she added.

Hilton, who is a friend of Trump's daughter Ivanka, first met the billionaire property tycoon when she was 12-years-old.

Speaking about the heiress, the President-elect described her as "beautiful".

While high-profile Hollywood stars such as Beyonce, Jay-Z, Madonna, Cher, Jennifer Lopez, Ellen DeGeneres, Miley Cyrus and Bryan Cranston had pledged their support for Hillary Clinton, Hilton was one of a handful of celebrities who backed Trump for president.

The Simple Life star is currently in Australia for a DJ tour, alongside promoting her new fragrance, Gold Rush according to Mail Online.
