Is Peter Andre set to join cast of Coronation Street?

Gemma Winter has not been shy about voicing her admiration for the singer.

There has been much talk of Peter Andre joining the cast of Coronation Street since his name was first mentioned in an episode back in August.

And it wouldn't be too surprising for the Mysterious Girl hitmaker – who has a long-standing working relationship with ITV stretching back to his I'm A Celeb bow in 2004 – to make a cameo on the cobbled streets.

The former singer has dabbled in several reality shows, including Peter Andre: My Life, and has even graced the panel of Loose Women.

It's been no secret that Weatherfield favourite Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) has the hots for the Australian hunk. Much to her delight, she may finally get to meet her big crush after winning a Good Citizen Award.

On Thursday night's (17 November) episode, Gemma was gushing about an opportunity to meet Andre, which is set to take place on the cobbles next week. But it's rumoured that he cancels at the last minute, leaving Gemma devastated.

In a rollercoaster twist and turn of emotions, Gemma's kebab shop boss Chesney Brown organises a big surprise, but has he actually managed to get the one and only Andre to Weatherfield once and for all?

In ITV's sneak peek snaps of an upcoming episode, it looks as though Chesney has delivered some good news. Gemma appears over the moon as she runs up to a mystery tanned man wearing shades on top of his head, before zealously embracing him.

Could this be the real Peter Andre? Viewers will have to wait and see...
