Pink has responded on Twitter to negative comments about her weight, urging fans to not be worried about her and condemning people's preoccupation with size.

The 35-year-old attended the John Wayne Cancer Institute 30th Annual Odyssey Ball in Los Angeles on Saturday 11th April, in a black dress that lead some onlookers to observe that the singer may have put on a few pounds in between tours. Critics fled to the internet to voice their mostly scathing reviews of the Just Give Me A Reason songstress's new look.

In response, Pink tweeted on Sunday: "I can see that some of you are concerned about me from your comments about my weight.

"You're referring to the pictures of me from last night's cancer benefit that I attended to support my dear friend Dr Maggie DiNome.

"She was given the Duke Award for her tireless efforts and stellar contributions to the eradication of cancer. But unfortunately, my weight seems much more important to some of you."

It seems like the gutsy pop-punk star took all the negative comments on the chin, stating that she isn't fazed by what others think of her body, and "while the dress didn't photograph as well as it did in [her] kitchen, [she] felt very pretty".

"I am perfectly fine, perfectly happy," she assured the trolls, "and my healthy, voluptuous and crazy strong body is having some much deserved time off. Thanks for your concern."

Despite her thanks sounding like a closing statement however, Pink didn't stop there. She went on to tweet a photograph of herself with her daughter Willow before the event, explaining how she demonstrates her pride in her figure to her two-year-old.

Finally, the Family Portrait singer posted a picture of her and her husband, Carey Hart suggesting that he likes her figure and believes "it's just more to love".

Hart showed his support for his wife by putting an image of the couple at the Odyssey Ball on Instagram, with the caption: "Wifey and I last night at the #JohnWayneCancerInstitute event to see our friend Maggie receive the duke award. Great event w/ a lot of amazing people doing great things to try to find a cure for cancer. Must note that me in a suit w/ a shaved head and neck tattoos, looks like I'm going to court. Wife was looking great though!!!!!"
