It looks like the makers of Pirates Of The Caribbean 5 - Dead Men Tell No Tales are aiming to recreate the magic of the first film in the popular Disney franchise. Curse Of The Black Pearl not only smashed box office records but kick-started one of the most beloved swashbuckling cinematic journeys ever begun.

However, the last film - On Stranger Tides - is considered the weakest of the bunch and failed to really impress fans. Maybe the makers are now out to recapture lost glory by giving the upcoming movie a "feel of the first film," according to actress Kaya Scodelario.

"[The producers] want to take it back to the beginning again," the actress told Digital Spy. "They wanted it to have this epic journey, and for it to make sense, and for it to tie things up, and also lead to new storylines."

Scodelario also spoke briefly about her character, Carina Smyth, in the film. "[Carina] is an astronomer, and she is an academic," she claimed. "She's fighting for the right to study at university, because women couldn't at that time."

The actress also ended up teasing a few minor plot details. "So she's on her own journey - looking for the trident of Poseidon - and she has a diary with clues, and she encounters Jack Sparrow along the way, and he messes everything up. As he does. And it's fun!" Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is slated to release on 7 July 2017.
