Princess Charlotte sleeps easier than her brother Prince George Kensington Palace

The Prince of Wales has revealed that one-month-old Princess Charlotte is every new parents' dream.

He said that while Prince George gave his parents sleepless nights, his sister already sleeps through, allowing her parents to get a good night's sleep.

The proud grandfather spoke about his new granddaughter at a tea party on Wednesday (10 June) at Clarence House for pilots and aircrew who fought in the Second World War.

A guest revealed that Prince Charles described Princess Charlotte as being "much easier on mum" than her 22-month-old big brother Prince George was at the same age.

"We were talking about grandchildren, he was saying Princess Charlotte does sleep through the night and it was much easier on mum than Prince George," said the guest.

Ahead of the birth of the eagerly anticipated second grandchild, Prince Charles revealed he was hoping for a granddaughter.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been with their children in their Norfolk home Anmer Hall, ever since the birth of the newest arrival on May 2.

Official pictures, taken by Kate, of the baby princess with her brother were released at the weekend.

The next set of official family pictures will be at Princess Charlotte's christening, which is due to take place on July 5 at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham, where Princess Diana was baptised.
