Real Madrid are ready to reinvest the £60m ($99.3m, €75.4m) generated by the sale of Angel Di Maria to Manchester United in Marco Reus or Radamel Falcao, reports in Spain claim.

After completing the signing of World Cup sensations Keylor Navas, Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez for around £100m, manager Carlo Ancelotti recently ruled out further additions.

"It's done. We're not looking to make any more signings," Ancelotti said.

However, Mundo Deportivo reports that Di Maria's exit is going to change his plans and the club are eventually working on signing Reus or Falcao – if not both.

Having also sold striker Alvaro Morata to Juventus for around £15m, Ancelotti has only one number nine in Karim Benzema, and since the beginning of the summer they have being linked with the Monaco star.

More number 9s needed

In this sense, French outlet Le 10 Sport reports Real Madrid have stepped up the negotiations for Falcao following Di Maria's exit as his sale provided them the necessary funds to move for the Colombian international, who may cost around €60m (£47m, $79m).

Nevertheless, Mundo Deportivo believes that even though Real Madrid are considering Falcao, their main target is Reus, as he can fill the gap left on the left flank by Di Maria.

The Borussia Dortmund star's future at the Bundesliga giants has been under scrutiny in recent weeks after it was revealed he had a special release clause in his contract which allows him to leave the team next summer for around £25m.

Indeed, recent reports have claimed that Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal have been alerted about it, while Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are also monitoring the situation.

Nevertheless, Real Madrid may take advantage of the fresh money received from United by Di Maria's exit to beat other suitors in the race to secure the coveted German international.
